III PROCEDURE:
Awareness:
1. Prayer and attendance
2. Present video clip
a. What is the video all about?
b. What do you think that made the houses beautiful?
- The stability and durability of materials used
- The accuracy of measurement
- The appropriate tools used in construction
Activity:
1. Group activity. “FIX ME NOW”
Direction: Assemble the cut picture. After you fix it, present it to the classmates
and describe the name of the carpentry tool being assembled.
2. Video clips about the carpentry tools.
- What do you see in the video?
- What is the video all about?
3. Did you see the actual tools and materials in carpentry?
4. Do you have tools at home?

Analysis:
- The teacher will ask the student:
A. What if there is no tool and equipment in the school, house and other
establishment?
B. What happens to the field of carpentry?
If there is no ….
● Pull-push-rule - used for measuring long distances / can we measure?
● Claw hammer - used for driving and pulling out nails/can we pull things
around it?
● Crosscut saw - tool used for cutting across the grain/ can we cut
accordingly?
● Ripsaw - used for cutting along the grain/ can we cut properly?
● Plumb-bob - used for vertical alignment/ can we secure perfect
alignment
● Try square - used to test the squareness of a stock/ can we see perfect
squareness?
● Hacksaw - fine toothed saw used to cut metals and pipes/ can we cut
metals?
● Level bar - tool used in checking vertical and horizontal position/ can we
distinguish vertical alignment?
● Lumber - sawn Timber/ can we construct small things without it?
● Nails - made of metal used for fastening woods/ can we fix just things?

Abstraction:
GROUP ACTIVITY
- How important is carpentry in your life today?
Group 1: It can be made by making short video clip/Singing.
Group 2: By making a collage.
Group 3: By news reporting

- Discuss/mention the following(across curriculum),


● Mathematics- fixing the different geometrical shapes of cut pictures
- the accuracy of measurement
● English – to read the directions carefully.
● MAPEH/Art – importance of carpentry by making collage
● AP – importance of carpentry by news reporting
● Science – the stability and durability of the materials
● EsP - appreciate the importance of carpentry in the society.

Application:
- Paste me now. The students get the picture and post it under the two
columns.
