At CloudEXPO Silicon Valley, June 24-26, 2019, Digital Transformation (DX) is
a major focus with expanded DevOpsSUMMIT and FinTechEXPO programs within the
DXWorldEXPO agenda. Successful transformation requires a laser focus on being
data-driven and on using all the tools available that enable transformation
if they plan to survive over the long term. A total of 88% of Fortune 500
companies from a generation ago are now out of business. Only 12% still
survive. Similar percentages are found throughout enterprises of all sizes.

DevOps is speeding towards the IT world like a freight train and the hype
around it is deafening. There is no reason to be afraid of this change as it
is the natural reaction to the agile movement that revolutionized development
just a few years ago. By definition, DevOps is the natural alignment of IT
performance to business profitability. The relevance of this has yet to be
quantified but it has been suggested that the route to the CEO's chair will
come from the IT leaders that successfully make the transition to a DevOps
model. If this still seems foreign to you, I recommend reading up on DevOps
Blog from IT Revolution, the OpsCode Blog, and check out The Phoenix Project.
Despite all the talk around simple monitoring tools, breaking through the
walls between Dev and Ops still poses a real challenge. This is because of a
misunderstanding around Operations real purp... (more)
DevOps Summit at Cloud Expo 2014 Silicon Valley was a terrific event for us.
The Qubell booth was crowded on all three days.
We ran demos every 30 minutes with folks lining up to get a seat and usually
standing around. It was great to meet and talk to over 500 people!
My keynote was well received and so was Stan's joint presentation with
RingCentral on Devops for BigData.
I also participated in two Power Panels - ‘Women in Technology' and ‘Why
DevOps Is Even More Important than You Think,' both featuring brilliant
colleagues and moderators and it was a blast to be a part of.
The Grid Dynamics folks were showcasing their technology called Agile
Software Factory that pre-packages many popular open source technologies and
tools into a fully integrated technology suite for continuous delivery
pipeline, from code changes to production updates.
Qubell is used by the Agile... (more)

The goal of any DevOps solution is to optimize multiple processes in an
organization. And success does not necessarily require that in executing the
strategy everything needs to be automated to produce an effective plan. Yet,
it is important that processes are put in place to handle a necessary list of
items.

DevOps Summit 2015 New York, co-located with the 16th International Cloud
Expo - to be held June 9-11, 2015, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY
- announces that it is now accepting Keynote Proposals.
The widespread success of cloud computing is driving the DevOps revolution in
enterprise IT. Now as never before, development teams must communicate and
collaborate in a dynamic, 24/7/365 environment. There is no time to wait for
long development cycles that produce software that is obsolete at launch.
DevOps may be disruptive, but it is essential.
The DevOps Summit at Cloud Expo will expand the DevOps community, enable a
wide sharing of knowledge, and educate delegates and technology providers
alike. Recent research has shown that DevOps dramatically reduces development
time, the amount of enterprise IT professionals put out fires, and support
time generally. Tim... (more)
"Application monitoring and intelligence can smooth the path in a DevOps
environment. In a DevOps environment you see constant change.
If you are trying to monitor things in a constantly changing environment,
you're going to spend a lot of your job fixing your monitoring," explained
Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, in this SYS-CON.tv interview
at DevOpsSummit, held Nov 4-6, 2014, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in
Santa Clara, CA.

Ten Myths of Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is transforming the way businesses think about and leverage
technology. As a result, the general understanding of cloud computing has
come a long way in a short time. However, there are still many misconceptions
about what cloud computing is and what it can do for businesses that adopt
this game-changing computing model. In this exclusive Q&A; with Cloud Expo
Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan, Rex Wang, Vice President of Product Marketing
at Oracle, discusses and dispels some of the common myths about cloud
computing that still exist today.
Cloud Computing Journal: Why do you think organizations often misunderstand
cloud computing?
Rex Wang: Overall, the understanding of cloud computing has come a long way
over the past few years. Cloud technology is being embraced by a growing
number of organizations each year, while other... (more)

Speaker
With 10 simultaneous tracks, keynotes, general sessions and targeted breakout
classes, Cloud Expo and @ThingsExpo are two of the most important technology
events of the year. Since its launch over eight years ago, Cloud Expo and
@ThingsExpo have presented a rock star faculty as well as showcased hundreds
of sponsors and exhibitors!
In this blog post, I provide 7 tips on how, as part of our world-class
faculty, you can deliver one of the most popular sessions at our events. But
before reading these essential tips, please take a moment and watch this
brief video from Sandy Carter.
"Cloud Expo was really the event to connect with thought leaders, innovators,
business folks who are interested in what the cloud can bring to their
business. You know really how it allows them to bring the... (more)
CA Technologies says, “For DevOps to work correctly, it must be treated as
a movement, not a market for a specific vendor’s products.”
As Arlo Guthrie once sang, with three people it is an organization. But if we
can find 50 people who can sing the praises of DevOps, it can become a
movement! Trouble is, many software developers are stuck in the past. In a
2012 service virtualization survey of IT executives and managers by analyst
firm voke, only 6% of the group responded they were completely confident that
new IT applications would be delivered to market on time.
But maybe its high time DevOps becomes a movement. You can read more about
this idea in my post last week on CA’s blog here.

"DevOps is really about the business. The business is under pressure today,
competitively in the marketplace to respond to the expectations of the
customer. The business is driving IT and the problem is that IT isn't
responding fast enough," explained Mark Levy, Senior Product Marketing

(http://DevOpsSummit.SYS-CON.com), held Nov 4-6, 2014, at the Santa Clara
Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
