G20 Report on Actions against Marine Plastic Litter: Sixth Information Sharing based on the G20 Implementation Framework

Building on the preceding G20 processes, and based on the G20 Implementation Framework for Actions on Marine Plastic Litter, the Sixth G20 Report on Action against Marine Plastic Litter is prepared under the leadership of Brazil, the G20 Presidency for 2024, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Japan. The report provides the latest snapshot of countermeasures against MPL by the 17 G20 members, 6 invited countries and 7 international organisations shared on a voluntary basis.

 

In addition to the questions that captures specific aspect of actions against marine plastic litter adopted in the previous versions of the report, efforts were made to unpack the details of actions reported where possible in an attempt to gain further insights, for instance, highlighting different policy tools and approaches employed.
