What’s Is It
Going back to the literary model, Karma, what is the plot of the story? Can you
give the plot of the story?
Plot:
Mohan Lal was a middle-aged man who worked in the British Raj. He was
ashamed to be an Indian hence he tried to speak in English or in Anglicized
Hindustani and to dress as if a high-ranked British official. He used to fill the
crossword puzzles of newspapers, which he did to show his immense knowledge in
English. His wife Lachmi was a traditional Indian woman and due to this
difference they were not having a sweet married life.
How will you describe the characters in the story? Can you tell the appearance,
way of thinking, feeling, etc. of the characters in our story?

Characters Rose Ann
Vincent
Settings School
Plot Rose Ann and Vincent were best friends. They are always together until they went home
after school. Vincent has a hidden feeling for her, he always wanted to support her in
everything and make her laugh. One day a guy from another section went to meet Rose Ann
after school to confess his feeling to her. She was with Vincent when he confesses his
feelings towards her. After that, she told Vincent that she also has feelings for that guy and
he was very jealous that it made him furious. The next day in school he ignored her the
whole day leaving her in curiosity about what’s going on. She was hurt not just because he
was ignoring her but also because he was hanging out and having fun with their other
classmates. Both of them waited each other to reach out first but no one made a move. Their
classmates notice the tension between the two of them so they talk to them separately to
know what’s going on. Both of them share their resentment towards each other to their
classmates and they advise to the both of them to talk and fix the problem together. After
having a serious conversation the two of them apologizes to each other and settle
everything. The next day everything went back to normal and their friendship became
stronger than before.
Conflict Vincent can’t accept that her best friend likes somebody else and Rose Ann was jealous
seeing her best friend hanging out with other people.
From the examples of what you have written above based on your own experience,
develop that into a short story.
