1. Define, in your own words, the meaning of good life.


For me, good life is living without regret. Living in this world with full of pain, sorrow and
lost is just temporary experiences and feelings that leads us on living a life with full of
negativities, problems and frustration. However, it is part of our human nature. Humans as we
are living in this world, it is up to us on how we live our life according on what we want to
experience. For me, having a good life is a fulfilment of our existence in this world. Good life is
living our lives in this world without regret.
2. How can one achieve a good life according to the article, “What is the Good Life?” by Emrys
Westacott?
Based on the article of Emrys Westacott, a good life can be achieve through a moral
living. In short, being a good person. Thus, from the word itself “good”, to act in moral ways.
Moreover, to live a good life it to live according to God’s law. Based on the beliefs of Christian
religions. In addition, it was also mentioned that there are Christian martyrs who died wherein
they are confident that they would go to heaven.
3. Can technology lead us to a good life?
Reading this question makes me realized, am I living a good life today compared to my
past experiences wherein I don’t have gadgets. Yes, I am living a good life because it makes my
works easier and faster. Can technology lead us to a good life? Indeed, technology brought us
to the so called future because of its advancement. Compared to the historical information that
we have learned from the past, people are living so hard going back to the time wherein
Thomas Edison discovered the light bulb. Before the time that Thomas Edison did not
discovered the light bulb, there was no electric source light and still people in that era is
depends in the light of fire. We are indeed blessed because of the technology nowadays
because it leads us to a good and comfortable life. However, there are technologies that leads
us to destructions but it is not considered to be a fruit of having a good life. It is up to us
humans on how to manage the technologies whether to lead us to a good and comfortable life
or to cause distractions and damnation.
Do people really need technology in their lives? Is it really necessity?
For me, if I will based my answer with belief of being a Christian, there is no need for
technologies because even God himself didn’t create things that can be considered technology.
However, we are blessed with wisdom and knowledge that leads us to discover, create and
develop things. The longer we lived in this world, the more our economy develop that is why
we need to adopt the technologies around us to avoid ignorance on the new things around us.
We cannot deny the fact that it is necessary because everybody want to live a life with comfort
and having the technology with us makes us convenient in all ways.
