while briefing him/her on how you are going to implement your activity.

permission to do a fun run program in our locality.

If you would grant our request our fun run program will be held on March 27,2021 as a tentative date
at Van Sertima Running Club.

Registration fees are as follows, P50. 00 for 3k, P100. 00 for 5k and P150. 00 for 10k.

The lined-up activities is intended for cancer patients of Benguet to help raise funds for them. We are

DIRECTIONS: On a separate yellow paper, answer the following briefly and

1. Organize a fun run event (3km, 5km, 7km and 21km) in your community for a
cause for those who experience calamities such as floods for relief goods or those in
lockdowns/ quarantines.

DIRECTIONS: Define and explain the following concepts in one to two sentence/s in
your own word/s according to your own understanding.

A. Organizing an event:
It is to plan and manage the details of a project or event that involves many
people.
It is about planning, arranging the venue, making invitations, support
materials and other.

B. Event Planning
Event planning is the process of managing a project such as a meeting,
convention, tradeshow, ceremony, (link is external)team building activity,
party, or convention. Event planning includes budgeting, establishing
timelines, selecting and reserving the event sites, acquiring permits,
planning food, coordinating transportation, developing a theme, arranging
for activities, selecting speakers and keynotes, arranging for equipment and
facilities, managing risk, and developing contingency plans.

C. Initiative
An initiative is the start of something, with the hope that it will continue.
Government and business start initiatives all the time. You can also talk
about initiative as a personal quality. A person with initiative is motivated to
do things. If you take the initiative, you’re willing to get things done on your
own.

D. Participation
In simple word it is like teamwork or cooperation. Actively involving in a
project or program activity.

E. Fitness Event
A plan to help someone improve their health and physical condition. Fitness
events can bring people together and inspire them to make changes. Events
allow gyms, studios, and health clubs to think of creative ways to engage
with members and the local community

WHAT I CAN DO

DIRECTIONS: Suppose that you are the head nurse of your school or organization
how are you going to:
a) initiate;
b) organize;
c) plan; and
d) implement a health-fitness program for your own school/ organization.

a) Explain:
Initiative is the power or opportunity to act or take charge before others do. It
is the ability to be resourceful and work without always being told what to do.
It requires resilience and determination. People who show initiative
demonstrate they can think for themselves and take action when necessary. It

means using your common sense, and having the drive to achieve. You can
initiate any fitness activity that will benefit not only you as an individual but
also for everyone as well.

b) Explain:
Organizing is making arrangements or preparations for an event or activity
which are often arranged in a systematic way, especially on a large scale.

c) Explain:
Planning is the process of making plans, arranging systematically events
and situations in a properly and orderly fashion that achieves success of every
activity. It is making out of every valuable information to produce a good
result. Through planning, one is given the focus for the activity, groups are
united toward common goals, productivity is maximized, resources are not
wasted on projects and equipped one better to prepare for the future,
increasing one’s chance of success.

d) Explain:
Fitness event targets the body needs to be fit even specific areas of concern
such as reducing belly fat or getting rid of obesity, overweight or bad
cholesterol. This is performed with a higher intense workout as compared to
any normal daily activity.

Directions: Answer the following briefly and succinctly.

1. What is the difference between planning and organizing an event?

Answer: Organizing is making arrangements or preparations for an event or


activity which are often arranged in a systematic way, especially on a large
scale .Organizing an event or an activity is always associated with a plan.

On the other hand, planning is the process of making plans, arranging


systematically events and situations in a properly and orderly fashion that
achieves success of every activity. It is making out of every valuable
information to produce a good result. Through planning, one is given the
focus for the activity, groups are united toward common goals, productivity is
maximized, resources are not wasted on projects and equipped one better to
prepare for the future, increasing one’s chance of success.

2. Contrast initiation with participation?

Answer: Participation is the action of taking part in something. It increases work


ownership of an individual. Meanwhile, initiative is the power or opportunity to act or
take charge before others do.

3. After learning about organizing and planning an event for physical fitness,
what then will be your initiative for self-improvement and self-fitness?

Answer:

 Be resourceful and work without always being told what to do.
