DIARY ENTRY

I.What is Diary Entry ?


Diary Entry is a short writing composition .It is usually a record of one’s feelings on the
happenings of the day . It is introspective in nature .It is informal ,creative ,expressive and
Imaginative at times.
II.POINTS TO REMEMBER :-
a.Diary Entry is written usually at thiary e end of the day,so logical sequencing of the
happenings to be followed .
b.Express in paragraph with important points in brief .

c.Lay stresson emotions ,feelings and reactions.


d.The writing style should be personal and informal considering diary as your best friend.
e. Writing should be in your first name .
f.Current day ,date and diary to be written on top left.
III.FORMAT OF A DIARY ENTRY :-

Main Body {in 2 to 3 short paragraphs}

1st Paragraph-about the event/day introduction


2nd Paragraph- happenings
3rd Paragraph- Your feeling /experience

*Accuracy and fluency -1 mark
Practice Questions :-
1.You are Nikhil ,who has recently read a newspaper article on the way teenagers behave
and how wrong or right it is. As a teenager write a diary entry on how adults perceive the
teenager and what the reality is .
2.Today was your first face to face encounter with tigers at Kanha National Park.You saw a
hoard of them at a very close distance and you were awestuck by the beauty ,grace and
egility .Express your excitement and wonder in the form of a Diary Entry .
