I. INSTITUTIONAL VISION:

The Physical Education Department is committed in honing students’ knowledge, skills and attitude with quality instruction

leaders of the institution.

VII. MISSION OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT:


The Physical Education department shall aspire for the development of academically excellent, values-oriented and globally
competitive individuals in the fast-changing world.
VIII. GOALS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT:
1. The physical educators will serve as role models, and acquire knowledge of Physical Education, Sports and Wellness;
2. The Physical Education provides a variety of activities which will motivate knowledge, skill and desirable traits through Physical
Education program; and
3. The Physical Education program will develop the students to establish lifelong learning.
IX. PROGRAM EXPECTED OUTCOMES (PEO):

Graduates of Tertiary Physical Education: Physical Activities Towards Health and Fitness (PATHFIT Courses)
should be able to:
Active and Healthy Living:
1. participate in moderate to vigorous activities (MVPAs) in accordance with national and global recommendation on physical
activities for health;
2. familiarize movement competencies with independent physical activity pursuits that are health-enhancing and personally
rewarding;
3. monitor progress and evaluate achievement of personal fitness and dietary goals;

4. practice empathy, and fair play, show respect, for different activities (i e. diversity) through interpersonal communication
skills, and emotional regulation
during physical activities participation; and
5. for sports, apply basic tactics (e.g. offense, defense, and transition in games situation).
Advocacy and Action:
1. device, apply and assess a range of strategies (e.g. exercise program design, goal setting and periodic evaluation to
improve one’s physical activity
performances and those of others).
2. enhance and advocate for one’s personal and others’ fitness, safety and wellness through physical activity and wellness
participation and/or leadership; and

3. promote practical and creative interventions that will create community connections and contribute to the health and
wellness of the school community and its
periphery.

X. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Learning Philippine traditional dances, social dances, popular, and contemporary dances provide fitness benefits and cultural
sensitivity. The course introduces the nature of the dance and its fitness benefits. It involves the fundamental techniques that
include movement skills through skills training, exercise drill, dance participation, and independent and self-directed physical
activities, and fitness levels will be enhanced. In conjunction with these fitness levels, physical activity participation and
dietary/eating patterns are evaluated to monitor one's progress and achievement of personal fitness and dietary goals.

XI. COURSE EXPECTED OUTCOMES (CEO):


At the end of the semester, the students must have:
1. demonstrated creative self-expression through different dances;
2. performed rhythmic movement sufficient to provide for fitness benefits and enjoyment;
3. showed rhythmic accuracy and coordination;
4. applied skills and social understanding through dance drill and training skills for enhancing fitness levels.
5. appreciated different cultures through different dances; and
6. learned dance skills to help maintain fitness and dietary goals.
