Caution for the DCBL motors

DANGER
For repair, disassembly or servicing, contact the vender or Hitachi authorized distributors.
Repair and disassembly must be done by specialists.
There is danger of electric shock, injury and/or fire.

Magnet of the motor rotor for the DCBL motor is magnetized.

Keep those who have electronic medical devices such as pace makers away from the magnet. These medical
devices may malfunction.
It may cause fatal danger to those who have electronic medical devices.

Do not connect to other devices than the DCBL controller.

There is danger of electric shock, injury and/or fire.

CAUTION
Very strong magnetic attractive force or magnetic repelling force occurs between magnetized part of the
motor rotor and other rotors or other magnetic material such as iron piece, iron jig/tools.
Pay attention to handling when assembling the magnetized motor because hands may be stuck in
between or attractive/repelling force may break the balance and cause unexpected infury.

Pay attention in handling as the magnetized parts tends to adsorb contaminant such as iron powder.
If the part is used with contaminant adsorbed, it may cause malfunction.

Do not move the magnetized part of the magnet rotor close to electronic devices.
It may effect measurement panel and control panel, and may cause malfunction or accident.

Do not move the magnetized part of the magnet rotor close to magnet tape, floppy disk, prepaid card, ticket,
watch, brown screen etc.
Magnetic records may be broken or damaged by magnetization.

■ About waste
When the DCBL motor is disposed of, follow the regulation on industrial
waste. Before disposition, the magnet rotor must be thermally
demagnetized by heating with gas burner or oven up to 500 deg.C

3. HOW TO OPERATE [Daily Operation]

3.5 Daily Operation

CAUTION
● Do not operate the machine with the pressure excess of its rated pressure. Excessive pressure gives
overload to the motor and may damage some parts or even cause SHUTDOWN of the compressor.
● Investigate the cause and take necessary measures when the Relief Valve functions or the compres-
sor stops by other safety device. Ask your dealer or your nearest Hitachi regional office if there is any
question.
● When the HISCREW stops and restarts frequently, repeats load-and-unload operation in a short peri-
od, or the ambient temperature and humidity are high, open the valve at the oil drain port to check
whether condensate has been collected in the oil separator tank. If you do not observe this instruc-
tion, the air end (rotors, bearings, etc.) and the components rust internally to cause a failure and/or
the oil deteriorates. For more information, see p. 19.

4.3 Lubricant Management

WARNING
1.When deteriorated lubricant is used without replacement, some of it adhere to the Oil Separator
Element and accumulate heat caused by its oxidization. This may bring even fire in the worst case.
2.Change lubricant and Oil Separator Element constantly according to the standard given by the Typical
Maintenance Standard ( see p. 42-44). Deteriorated Lubricant may result fire to the Oil Separator
Element.
3.Use genuine synthetic oil (NEW HISCREW OIL NEXT) for lubricant. Avoid use of other brand or mix use
with it.

CAUTION
● Replenish the oil (genuine synthetic oil) periodically to maintain the proper oil level. Long time opera-
tion without the oil replenishment at low oil level, can cause the shorter oil life or oil deterioration.
● Oil replenishment shall be carried out every 1,500 to 1,000 operating hours. Replenish amount might
be 1.8L (55kW), 2.4L (75kW) liters. (Actual replenish amount shall be determined by the oil level, as it
is varied by the load rate of the compressor.)
● Sampling analysis of the oil at every 3000 hours interval is recommended. Earlier oil replacement
might be necessary, depending on the result of the analysis.
Consult HITACHI dealer for the sampling analysis.

works.

② The compressor automatically stops running and

the START light goes off.

③ When the power supply is inter r upted, AUTO

START light on the operation panel blinks.
④ The compressor will automatically restart 45 sec-

IMPORTANT

(1) Instantaneous power interruption means the instanta-

neous drop of voltage to 0 V.
(2) When such time is longer than 10 seconds, the sensor
detects it as a power failure and stops the unit. In such
case, the unit will not restart automatically.
So, press the START button to start the unit again.
(3) If instantaneous stop occurs for the fan inverter, the fan
inverter automatically instantaneous power interruption
restarts. The compressor continues operating as is at
this time. (History is not displayed.)

8. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

CAUTION
● Before Maintenance work, read “To Use in Safety” ( see p. 2) again carefully.
● Be sure to disconnect the power, wait for about 10 minutes, and make sure that charge lamp of DCBL
controller and fan inverter are off when check or maintenance is carried out. If not, such work may
cause serious accident like electric shock.
● When part of the unit needs to be disassembled or removed, be sure to release its internal pressure
to the level of ambient air pressure. Residual high pressure inside the unit will blow out of it when a
bolt, pipe or other part is removed, and may cause unexpected accident.

CAUTION
Magnet of the motor rotor for the DCBL motor is magnetized.
Keep those who have electronic medical devices such as pace makers away from the magnet. These medical
devices may malfunction and it may cause fatal danger to those who have electronic medical devices.

(3) Replace the part if it shows fault during inspection. al.

How to Select and Use the Typical Maintenance Standard (A) or (B)
1. Depending on the expected yearly operating hours of your HISCREW, select the typical maintenance standard (A) or (B):
(A): for 3,000 - 6,000 hours and
(B): for 0 - 3,000 hours.
The maintenance items are listed according to a maintenance interval of calendar time (1-day, 1-month, 6-months,
1-year, 2-years, 4-yers, 6-years, 8-years).
Typical Maintenance Standard (A):
(1) The standard (A) assumes the relation between the operating hours and the calendar time, such as 500 hours = 1
month or 6,000 hours = 1 year.
(2) If HISCREW reaches the designated operating hours before the calendar time passes, carry out the corresponding
maintenance work immediately. For example, If HISCREW reaches 500 operating hours when 3 weeks have
passed, carry out 1-month maintenance (performance check of relief valve and oil replenish/analyze) immediately.
Typical Maintenance Standard (B):
(1) The standard (B) assumes the relation between the operating hours and the calendar time, such as 250 hours = 1
month or 3,000 hours = 1 year.
(2) If your HISCREW reaches the assumed operating hours before the calendar time passes (e.g. HISCREW reaches
250 operating hours when 3 weeks have passed), switch the standard from (B) to (A).
Also switch to (A), even with the yearly 3,000 operating hours expected, if your HISCREW:
● Has been suspended for a long time,
● Continuously unloads, or
● Operates under hot-and-humid, dusty, corrosive-gaseous, or any other harsh operating environments.

IMPORTANT

Unless otherwise specified, the interval is repetitive; an interval of 2-years, for example, means every 2 years.

2. Maintenance item marked with ○ : Carry out by yourself (or, alternately, order its servicing to the distributor).

Be sure to fasten it by the hand tightly.

● When the Oil Filter clogged, lubricant sup-

ply to the compressor lessens and dis-
charged air temperature rises.
This makes Discharge air Temperature
Relay to actuate and the compressor even-
tually stops. Also, lubricant feeding to the
bearings becomes insufficient and this may
cause shutdown of the unit.
The HISCREW employs two oil filter elements.
Replace both at the same time.

● Be careful not to bum yourself because

immediately after power off, the oil filter ele-
ments, and surrounding pipes are hot.

NOTE
(1) Discharge air capacity is a converted value according to the suction condition of the compressor.
(2) Discharge pressure indicates gauge pressure.
(3) Discharge air temperature varies depending on ambient temperature, load ratio etc.
The interphase voltage unbalance ratio of the power supply shall be within 1 %.
If the unbalance factor of the input current exceeds 20 % during the rated load operation, install AC reactor to the input side for improvement
of power supply cooperation. (The AC reactor is NOT the scope of supply from HITACHI)
(4) Applicable for the load ratio between 30 and 105 %.
(5) When a unit operates at the pressure below the PQ wide mode range, size-UP may be required for separate dryer and/or filters. Contact
Hitachi authorized distributors.
(6) The compressor is not equipped with an earth leakage breaker. The earth leakage breaker should be provided by the customer.
(7) The appearance and specifications are subject to change without notification.
(8) Intake temperature upper limit is 40℃ for dustproof specifications and optional specifications.
