 The East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project is part of the Lake Albert

1. Equipment-Static

Flanges, Pipe fittings, Strainers, Demister pads, Column internals & Packing materials as per
international codes and standards i.e. ASME Sec II, VIII, TEMA & as per spec requirements.
 Inspection of all kind raw materials at manufacturer’s shop or supplier’s place.
 Equipment receiving, storage and preservation, pre-installation, elevation/alignment, internal
installation and tray leak testing, flange joint-gasket verification and bolt tightening and vessel
closure inspection as per ITP, Inspection checklist.
 Expedite erection, alignment - Padding, Elevation, Position, Orientation, Verticality, Levelness,
Platform & ladder, grouting, testing before pre-commissioning activities of mechanical
equipment’s & Vessel Box-up.
 Updating equipment daily installation/alignment status and preparing daily progress report for
weekly and monthly progress meeting.
 Attending weekly log book entry and NCR meeting with client and field engineering.

2. Equipment-Rotary

Specifications.
 Attending RFI's raised by Concerned at various stages of inspection and for various activities (Pad
Plate inspection, Fit-up & Welding, NDT inspection, Alignment, Bolt Tightening, Gratings fixing,
Handrail erection, etc.).
 Inspect structure with reference to various tolerances and specifications and ensure usage of
appropriate Material sections, Fasteners and Consumables being used.

 Ensure that Qualified Welders, WPS & PQR are used to perform tasks and NDT (UT, RT & MPI)
requirements are fulfilled as per ITP.
 Release of Structure to preceding department after inspection.
 Resolving Technical discrepancies arose on Site in consultation with seniors.
 Review foundation release notes and take handover of foundations.
 Witness erection of structural steel, bolt tightening (snug tightening/torquing).
 Issuing Punch List on job completion and closing Punchlist for final completion and handing over
to client.

 Piping Work
 Inspection of Incoming Pipes, Fittings, Valves and related materials against PO, Material take-off
(MTO) list and Drawings.
 Responsible for storage and preservation of materials as per recommended procedure. Preparing
OSDR (Over shortage & Damage Report) of unacceptable materials.
 Verification of isometric dawning with respect to P&ID.
 Reviewing the approved quality plans, manuals and scope of work to perform the required
inspection.
 Check edge preparation and fit ups to verify that areas to be weld are free of contaminants and
that fit up is within tolerance.
 Inspection of piping before erection to verify that the interior is clear of foreign materials.
 Installation verification of different types of valves per isometric drawing, line class and P&ID.
 Inspection of valve filed testing (Hydrotesting)
 Ensure that pipe supports have been installed properly in accordance with the piping drawing and
Support detail drawing.
 Preparing and reviewing test packages.
 Review of SIS sheets and verify the test pressure calculation.
 Pretest punch listing verification of pressure test packages.
 Witnessing of pneumatic test, hydrotest, and flushing; system lay-up.
 Reinstatement verification of pressure test packages.
 Initiating internal NCRs for identified nonconformities and for effective implementation of
project quality plan, ITP’s, approved procedures, project specifications, IFC drawings etc.
 Coordinating with clients/Consultants for inspection activities.
 Witness of alignment, orientation and dimensions of installed piping.
 Confirm repairs, re-testing and reinspection in accordance with specification.
 Witnessing of Flange joint assembly and bolt torquing as per Flange management Procedure
Requirements.
 Inspection of gaskets, supports, valves prior to line reinstatement acceptance as per the latest
drawing for construction, codes and specification standards
 Ensure prepared documents, procedures for inspection method, inspection and testing plan in
computerized environment.
 Clearing of MCC (Mechanical completion certificate) items.
 Witnessing of Destructive & Non- Destructive testing for Procedure Qualification Tests.
 Witnessing Welder Performance Qualification Test as per ASME section IX and Other Specifications.
 Checking Welding Consumables, Preheat and Inter-pass temperature and other Essential welding
parameters as per WPS.
 Visual Inspection of finished weld joints.
 Monitoring NDE activities and attending repairs.
 Reviewing PWHT charts (heating and cooling rate, soaking temperature, and time) and Hardness
reports.
 Witnessing of PMI Inspection of different materials like SS, ALLOY & others.
 Witnessing of Ferrite Inspection test of SS Materials as per specification requirements.

 Conduct final inspection for system mechanical completion certificate (SMCC) for system
completeness and prepare punch list for those that did not comply with company requirement and
final verification upon correction for final approval.
 Witness and Supervise Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities such as flushing/ air
blowing, system tightness/leak testing and nitrogen purging of piping systems. Conduct line walk
down for system that issued for High pressure leak test (HPLT) for final verification of issued punch
list prior for release.

 Painting and Coating work


 Review of approved procedure and Implementation of project ITP as per requirements.
 Conduct non-destructive & destructive testing of coatings.
 Handle surveillance inspection of surface preparation; paint mixing, WFT, DFT, adhesion and curing
of paint and finalizing the total paint consumption.
 Conduct Inspection of consumables like paint and abrasive materials (Grit/garnet/copper slag.
 Ensure personnel qualification for painters and blasters.
 Conduct visual inspection for Products and prepare status reports.
 Inspect painting and coating equipment on site before production.
 Check dew Point, RH% and substrate temperature for suitable blasting and Coating.
 Checking Compressed Air Quality before blasting work through blotter paper.
 Checking the Compressed Air Pressure through hypothetic Needle gauge.
 Grade the surface profile by using standard comparators (ISO surface profile comparators, Replica
test, Dial Gauge method).
 Conduct final coating inspection and testing of DFT (Type I, Type II & Tooke Gauge), Holiday
Detection (Low voltage DC wet sponge test & High voltage DC test), Adhesion test (Cross Cut test,
X-Cut, Dolly test)
 Filed joint coating Inspection with DFT (Type I, Type II & Tooke Gauge), Holiday Detection (Low
voltage DC wet sponge test & High voltage DC test), Adhesion test (Cross Cut test, X-Cut, Dolly
test).
 3LPE Field Coating Inspection of Pipeline.

 Insulation
 Check the isometric drawing and proper documents to be insulated and correct the code system
(Size and thickness)
 Ensure the surface preparation is free from dust, oil, and other contaminants before starting.
 Ensure that the equipment or tools to be used and insulation materials {Polyisocyanurate (PIR),
flexible elastomeric foams (FEF), rock wool and cellular glass are used from approved
manufacturers with approved banding, sealant, screws, rivet, cold shoe, vapor stops etc. to be used
in the project with manual and in situ method.
 Monitor and check layer by layer during application of insulation and correct thickness.
 Check the completeness of the insulation and final cladding with complete sealant.
