Descriptive Essay Place

Crafting a descriptive essay about a place may initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving
into the intricacies of the process reveals its inherent challenges. The difficulty lies not merely in
stringing together a series of adjectives to paint a vivid picture but in capturing the essence and
atmosphere of the place with words.

One of the primary hurdles is finding the right balance between detail and conciseness. Too many
details can overwhelm the reader, while too few may leave the description feeling incomplete.
Striking the perfect equilibrium requires a keen understanding of the significance of each detail in
conveying the overall ambiance of the place.

Additionally, the challenge lies in evoking the reader's senses through words. Describing the visual
elements is only a fraction of the task; the challenge extends to capturing the sounds, smells, textures,
and even tastes associated with the place. This sensory layering demands a heightened level of
descriptive prowess to transport the reader into the heart of the location.

Moreover, organizing the essay poses its own set of difficulties. Structuring the description in a way
that unfolds smoothly, maintaining a logical flow while keeping the reader engaged, requires careful
consideration. Creating a sense of cohesion between paragraphs and ensuring a seamless transition
from one aspect of the place to another can be a formidable task.

Lastly, there's the challenge of originality. Describing a place that has been written about extensively
requires a unique perspective to avoid clichés and generic descriptions. Injecting personal experiences
and emotions into the narrative can elevate the essay from a mere travelogue to a compelling,
personalized exploration of the chosen place.

In conclusion, composing a descriptive essay on a place is a nuanced endeavor that demands a

delicate interplay of language, creativity, and organizational skills. However, with the right approach
and attention to detail, one can transform a seemingly mundane location into a captivating literary
landscape.

Similarities Between The Joy Of Life And The Large Bathers
The post impressionist period gave us some of the greatest painters in modern art
history. These artist created some of the most expressive paintings during a time when
their various styles allowed them to do so. They used both past artist and their fellow
artist to influence them to create new works of art. Paul Cezanne was one of the most
influential artist in modern history (Voorhies, 2004). His painting The Large Bathers
served as an inspiration for other artist to follow. Two of those were Pablo Picasso and
Henri Matisse, both of whom created their own paintings in response to The Large
Bathers. Henri Matisse s The Joy of Life could be the closest reference to The Large
Bathers than any other painting (Harris Zucker, n.d.). Both paintings
Solution Focused Brief Analysis
The miracle question, this is one of the most important question in Solution Focused
Brief Therapy. Suppose one night a miracle happened and your problem was solved,
how would you know? What would be the difference? The miracle question in Tanya s
session allowed her to focus not only on eliminating the problem, but allows her to
focus on the possibilities of her future on what is left of it before she dies. I think what
Insoo Kim Berg was doing here is setting up self fulfilling prediction that Tonya s
problems are already partially in the past. I found that throughout the interview Insoo
Kim Berg had a lot of exceptions questions. Insoo Kim Berg asked many time how
would your life be different? Each time Tonya would have the same response if I was not
abused my life would be different she would not have the life style she had, would be
able to gone to school and not run away, would not work as a working girl.... Show more

I think it brings her peace of mind just knowing it was not her fault how her life turned
out and that she will be able to dye in peace. What I found to be very impressing is
how Insoo Kim Berg complemented Tonya for not giving up by telling her she is a
strong person and how does she do it. Repetition: I found that throughout the interview
that Insoo Kim Berg did reframe many of her questions. By using different words, it
helped encourage resolution to Tonya s problem knowing she is dying and wanted to
let her mother to be proud of her. What I found it Tonya s remark on I just want to get
rid of it I think she has come to terms of her dying and wants her family to know she
has forgiven them for the abuse. But yet has not accepted what the male people in her
life have done to
Nathan Brownson Research Paper
In 1781 Nathan Brownson was the governor of Georgia. Brownson graduated from
Yale College in 1761 and went on to study medicine. He was the first physician to be a
governor in Georgia. During his time as governor the British were just leaving
Augusta. While the British were in control of Georgia, its residence divided between
loyalist and patriots. Once the British left, Brownson had to bring those two groups
back together. Brownson also found a way to gain back the population of people that
had fled during the war. After Brownson graduated he set up a medical practice in
1774. During the Revolution he served as a army doctor. He also joined the provincial
congress of Georgia in 1775, when the Revolutionary War started. Before serving as...

Augustine three times. In 1776 General Lee led the Georgia troops to St. Johns River,
which was still in Georgia, and turned back around. In 1777 General Robert Howe lead
another attempt to capture St. Augustine. Howe believed he would not succeed since
he only had four hundred troops. They made it to St. Johns River where they fought
the British and Florida Rangers. The Georgia troops headed back north after the failed
take over. Continental troops were supposed to provide help to the Georgia troops, but
could not make it any farther than St. Marys River. The third attempt, in 1778, to take
over St. Augustine was probably the best attempt by far. Georgia had two thousand
troops ready and the Georgia navy along their side. The only problem with this attempt
was the commanders of the troops. Howe, John Houstoun, Andrew Williamson, and
Oliver Brown were all meant to work together to take over St. Augustine. Howe and
Houstoun could not agree on who would be the commander, while Brown refused to
take orders from either since he did not know what kind of navy he had: Continental or
state. They made it to St. Marys River where they fought with the Florida Rangers. The
Florida Rangers retreated back into Florida. Howe also decided that enough had been
done and headed back north. Houstoun had Brown wished to continue, but decided
against it because they did not want to go
Analysis of Lucy Gayheart by Willa Cather
Analysis of Lucy Gayheart by Willa Cather

Lucy Gayheart is a young, spirited, intelligent music student from Havorford, on the
South Platte River. In the winters, she attends a conservatory in Chicago, under the
tutelage of Professor Auerbach. In Chicago, she lives in a room above a German
bakery, where she takes her breakfasts and suppers. These small quarters do not distress
her; indeed, she craves the solitude of her own will, her own piano, her own bed. She
walks hungrily through Chicago, her appetite for life never disappointed by the thriving
midwestern metropolis. She is beautiful, she is talented, and her young heart has never
been broke. The year is 1901. At some point in everyone s life, you meet someone whom

For a time, Lucy Gayheart feels the assurance of a bright future reaffirmed daily. And
then a tragedy strikes, an undreamed of turn of events, something which happens every
day, and yet which we never address, because it is unthinkable. So will Lucy allow
tragedy to beat her down into an existence she has long scorned? Or will she find the
mettle to not only endure, but to grow in the face of, her heartbreak? This book was
published in 1935. Its syntax can be long winded, but its imagery is unforgettable. The
author conveys a deep love for her fellow man, and for the inexpressible promise of a
young life. I believe there is Lucy Gayheart in all of us.

The small town character of Lucy was so typical and nostalgic in her quest for first, real,
and unconventional love, much to the dismay of her rogue ish childhood admirer. The
feelings and actions of Lucy toward both situations is so characteristic of youth and
young love. This novel would appeal mostly to women, from the teens on up, who are
looking for something to read on a cold, rainy day while sipping hot cocoa. It is a
wonderful escape to a past time in America and life.

From the beginning Lucy Gayheart held my attention. It had so many ups, and downs,
twists and turns that it was captivating. The book was very descriptive and wordy, but
instead of taking away from the book it added depth and clarity. It s detail allowed me to
become part of the book. I felt as if I knew Lucy forever,

Health Disparities Among Women Veterans
Introduction Within the last ten years, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has
begun to measure and collect data on gender neutral health screenings to determine if
there were any gender specific health disparities among the veteran population. The
findings of the study showed some significant disparities between sexes. In an article
recently written by Whitehead, Czarnogorski, Wright, Hayes, Haskell (2014), and
published in the American Journal of Public Health, disparities among women veterans
were explored as well as the statistical data surrounding the inequities analyzed. There is
an urgency needed in addressing these health disparities among women veterans, as they

Implications of Health Inequalities Currently, Heart disease is the leading cause of
death among women in the United States (Haskell et al., 2014). In the 2016 Update of
the Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics report from the American Heart Association,
women, in general, have a 32% prevalence rate for LDL issues vs. 31% for men.
Likewise, in older women vs older men, the prevalence for hypertension rates for
women were 57% vs. 54% in men (Mozaffarian et al., 2016). Within the VA, there is an
even bigger gap for management of LDL s and heart disease. 79.47% of women vs.
88.89% of men have LDL levels within the normal limits. Similarly, 79.34% of women
vs. 85.67% of men with diabetes had an LDL within normal limits (Whitehead et al.,
2014). Both high LDL and hypertension are proven risk factors for heart disease and
stroke. When paired with diabetes, risk of peripheral artery disease, heart failure, and
irregular heartbeat can also be factors (Mozaffarian et al., 2016). Mental health
inequities cannot be overlooked. Approximately 50% of 6,287 women within the VA
reported needing mental health services. 84% received care and of those, only 48.8%
