Use the vocabulary words and phrases in the boxes of Exercise #1 to complete the definitions below.
The first one is an example.

Classify the vocabulary words and phrases in Exercise #1 according to what you do BEFORE, DURING,
and AFTER a trip. Some of them can be used more than once. You can add drawings.

Exercise #1
Read the story about my last trip to Santo Domingo. Pay attention to the highlighted actions and what
happens to them when telling a story in the past. What do you notice about these actions?

I last went to Santo Domingo in 2017. First, I planned my


itinerary with my friend. We decided to stay there for a week.
Then, we arranged transportation and accommodation. We
booked a flight from Costa Rica to Santo and booked a hotel
in La Zona Colonial. Before we traveled, we packed our bags.
The day we traveled we were super excited! When we arrived
to our destination, Santo Domingo, we went to the hotel by
taxi. We unpacked our bags and started the adventure. We
visited many beautiful places, like the Zona Colonial, the Malecon and many others. We did
fun activities during the day and night! After a week of fun, we got ready to go back home.
We packed our bags again and traveled back to Costa Rica. When we arrived home, we
unpacked our bags and remembered all the fun things we did in our trip to Santo Domingo.
