I. Executive Summary

Pulvolines is a start-up polvoron business located in SM San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. We

have been able to lease a stall beside Honey Bear Bakery that is enough to fit into the design of a

delicacy shop that we intend to launch. It intends to hire a skilled and hardworking production staff

and a trustworthy cashier/sales lady to handle customer service and day to day operations. This

business expects to catch the interest of the customers’ base with its broad variety of polvoron

products.

Since we all know that polvoron is a traditional and well known sweet from the

Philippines, Pulvolines will be involved in preparing and selling special polvoron including;

chocolate, cookies and cream, pandan, plain, ube, a 2 in 1 and 3 in 1 flavored polvoron with a twist

of touching some inspirational, biblical and motivational quotes in the packaging. By these,

Pulvolines expect to catch the interest of the customers.

Moreover, polvoron is for everyone, regardless of their gender or age but since the location

of our business is inside the mall and near to the schools, most of the students passed by in there

to spend their free time to chill, and because of that we assumed that our dominant consumers will

be the students.

However, since our business is just new in creating its name in the industry, we come up

to the different style of promoting and advertising our product. One of these promotion strategy is

our buy 1 take offer for those first 100 persons that will avail our product in its grand opening,

there is also an internet marketing wherein we will be posting details about our product and lastly,

we will distribute fliers so that our possible consumers may have an idea about our product.

4
This polvoron business plans to build a strong market position that can compete to other

related business competitors. By meeting the satisfaction of our consumers and providing a unique

way of offering our product, we will positively envision that our business will grow bigger and

can have a chance to establish another branch.

Pulvolines intend to bring a new and vibrant twist to the classic sweet delicacy shops that

everyone will patronize. However, it is not only focusing on the flavors of polvoron, because it is

also focusing on how to satisfy the taste of customers.

We will ensure that we hold ourselves accountable to the proper standards by meeting our

customers’ needs precisely and completely.

This business aims to offer its products at an affordable price to meet the demand of the

local market area resident and to position the business to become one of the known brands in the

delicacy shops industry.

5
II. Body of the Plan

A. Description of the Business

Our business is Polvoron which is a type of shortbread and holiday delicacy that originated

from the Iberian Peninsula and is now one of the well-known delicacies in the Philippines. When

we talk about Polvoron, we always tend to depict a picture of a milk powdered delicacy in our

mind with a nostalgic feeling. A delicacy that brings us back to our younger days.

But since we all know that we can never loathe the original flavor of it, we can’t still deny

the fact that we want something new, something innovative and something that would astonish our

taste buds, perhaps an unusual new look and flavor. Because of that we believe that our product’s

advantage is much more ahead compared to others polvoron products because of its unique way

of wrapping style and different set of flavors.

It aspires to produce polvoron that can keep pace with the taste of the new generation not

just in the way of introducing new flavors but in a sense of unusual physical characteristics of it.

Target Market

will be the students. Since they love sweet treats with an affordable price, they will patronize it.

workers, or adults.

17
E. Marketing Plan

We use several methods to market our business. Since we are new in this industry,

we’d like to get the attention of our customers so we decided to use the traditional marketing which

is the Buy 1 Take 1for first 100 persons that avail our product in our grand opening. We use this

method because this is a great discount technique to use to appeal to consumers.

We also give fliers so that they may share it to their family and friends. We all know that

many of us are attracted to social media so we also use internet marketing which is the easy way

and a no budget advertising to promote our product. Since, the date of our opening is Christmas

season, we also decided to use the seasonal marketing, which the consumers may pick or think of

their own quotes or line, and we will put it in their polvoron.

By using these different methods we assumed that our product will gain a lot of possible

consumers.

✓ Fliers - a piece of paper that has something printed on it (such as an advertisement or an

announcement) and that is given to many people

18
✓ Traditional Marketing – It is a rather broad category that incorporates many forms of

advertising and marketing. It's the most recognizable types of marketing, encompassing

the advertisements that we see and hear every day. Most traditional marketing strategies

fall under one of four categories: print, broadcast, direct mail, and telephone.

✓ Online Marketing – It is a set of tools and methodologies used for promoting products

and services through the internet. Online marketing includes a wider range of marketing

elements than traditional business marketing due to the extra channels and marketing

mechanisms available on the internet.

✓ Seasonal Marketing – It is marketing products or services at certain points of the year.

That could be Christmas, Easter or Thanksgiving.
