1. Software Download
There is only one installer for all Emulate3D editions (Layout3D, Demo3D, Sim3D,
Emulate3D). Please download the latest installation file.

Always navigate to the most recent directory (the one with the highest build number)
which is 11313/ in the screenshot above. Save the installer locally on your computer.

2. Installation Client Software
Please double click the downloaded installer to start the installation. You can leave all
suggested default values as they are. After completing the installation, you should find
“Emulate3D” in the start menu under Emulate3D 2022. Please select your edition on
startup of Emulate3D (e. g. Emulate3D Controls Testing).

3. Universal License Service (ULS)


If you decided to use the Universal License Service (ULS), which enables Emulate3D
software to gain access to client licenses from the Internet automatically when the
software is started, user installations need to be fitted with a company-unique ULS Serial
Number. Users may then run Emulate3D software while maintaining an Internet
connection, or may borrow licenses from the ULS, for up to 30 days, for offline software
operation.

Please select ULS in the licensing dialogue shown and click next.

For ULS operation, the company-unique serial number must be entered into the following
window after starting Emulate3D.

Emulate3D connects automatically to the ULS and accesses the needed license (if
available), after the serial number has been accepted.

If the access to the ULS fails, please check if port 6250 is blocked by a firewall or proxy
server. You need to be able to ping activate.emulate3d.com:6250.

Alternatively you can fit your machines manually with the company-unique serial number
by providing the number in a startup.ini file (%APPDATA%\Emulate3D directory).

If the startup.ini file already exists in the directory, then it may be edited to contain the
ULS information.
If the startup.ini file does not already exist, it may be added manually, using Microsoft®
Notepad or similar.
The serial number should be installed into the startup.ini file as follows:
serialno=XXX

Where XXX is the company-unique serial number.

We recommend the free registration at the webstore for tutorials and other components
(store.sim3d.com).
