Griselda Flores

Senior Editor, Latin

Griselda is Billboard’s senior editor, Latin. From identifying cultural and musical trends that can lead to in-depth print or online pieces to interviewing key players and fully understanding the business of music and the money driving it behind the scenes, she is fully immersed in all things Latin music. As Latin music revenue hits an all-time high, Griselda has written cover stories for global superstars who’ve led this generation’s Latin boom, such as Karol G, Anitta, Grupo Firme, Peso Pluma, Christian Nodal and Luis R Conriquez. As a superfan of regional Mexican music, Griselda has followed closely the decades-old genre’s mainstream takeover and seismic growth in the United States and beyond. In her May 2023 story “Regional Mexican Music Isn’t Just Having A Moment — It’s Been A Movement,” she breaks down why regional Mexican isn’t just having a moment but rather has become a movement, ushered in by a new generation of Mexican and Mexican American artists. Previously an assignment editor for Univision Chicago, where she won an Emmy Award for news specialty report/series focused on the murder of Chicago woman Marlen Ochoa, Griselda was born and raised in Chicago and is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College Chicago and a master’s degree from Northwestern University Medill School.
