Bosch, Siemens to buy Atecs Mannesmann unit.(Brief Article)

Mannesmann's Atecs group with its Boge rubber-to-metal bonding unit and Berstorff rubber extruder maker is bought by Bosch, Siemens.

Mannesmann AG has agreed to sell its Atecs Mannesmann AG engineering and automotive unit to Robert Bosch GmbH and Siemens AG, which made a joint bid of nearly $9000 million. Among Atecs Mannesmann's operations are the Mannesmann Boge GmbH antivibration parts business, and rubber extruder manufacturer Berstorff GmbH.

The Bosch-Siemens proposal foresees Siemens merging its automotive electronics business with Atecs' similar VDO activity, and Bosch combining its automation technology activities into Atecs' Rexroth business. …
