Emacs is a text editor developed back in the '70ties when computer operators and programmers used primarily text-based
terminal windows to interact with computers. It is a powerful program, but all that power is hidden behind non-intuitive
key-bindings.
It would be a mistake, however, to think that Emacs is outdated. While it takes longer to learn how to use
Emacs than it takes to learn a common word processor, it is worth the effort. It takes longer to learn how to fly an airplane than to learn how to drive a car, but it can save you a lot of time in the long run to make the investment.

Here is nice piece of software for creating tutorial or presentation movies. It is particularly well suited for creating tutorials for software and can capture screenshots. The user can add explanation boxes and record voice messages.
Output formats include Flash, PDF, HTML and stand-alone executable.
It runs on both Linux and Windows. It is free, but it is not Open Source.

Open Clip Art Library - Thousands of Free Images

Open Clip Art Library project collects user contributed clip art images. The focus is on supporting users of open source imaging software, including
Inkscape,
OpenOffice, and
AbiWord.
All images in the Open Clip Art Library are in the PNG and/or the SVG format, which is an open scalable vector format. The images are also required to be in the public domain, that is, there are no restrictions on how you can use them. Each clip art image has a set of tags associated with it, which you can use to locate those that are relevant to your project.
