It appears that the Nintendo Switch 2’s album applet has far higher screenshot and video storage limits than Nintendo Switch.

According to the official Nintendo website, you can save up to 15,000 screenshots in the system memory and 15,000 screenshots on a microSD Express card. As for videos, you can save up to 1,500 videos in the system memory, and up to 5,000 videos on the microSD Express card. This means that if you have a microSD Express card, you can save up to 30,000 sreenshots and 6,500 videos across both the system memory and card. Please note that these limits apply from firmware version 20.1.1 and above.

If you’re on a firmware version that is below 20.1.1, you can only save up to 1,000 screenshots and 100 videos in the system memory, and it wouldn’t be possible to save any screenshots or videos on a microSD Express card.

For comparison’s sake, the Nintendo Switch allows users to save up to 10,000 screenshots and 100 videos on the microSD card, so this is a huge improvement.

It’s also been confirmed that you can capture up to 30 seconds of gameplay footage by holding the capture button.
