following technology or terminology
1. Wifi router
Combines the networking functions of a wireless access point and a router; it is used to
provide access to the internet. Vic Hayes is an Engineer and often credited as “father of
Wi-Fi”, Wi-Fi was invented and first released for consumers in 1997.
2. Wifi broadband
It is a telecommunications technology that provides high-speed wireless internet access
over a wide area. Broadband started to replace dial-up in the early 2000s, with half of all
internet users possessing a broadband connection by 2007.
3. Fiber optic internet Connection
Commonly called fiber internet or simply “fiber”, is a broadband connection that can
reach speeds of up to 940Mbps with low lag time, it uses fiber-optic cable and can send
data as fast as about 70% the speed of light. In 1988, fiber-optic cables were laid
beneath the ocean, connecting the U.S to Europe, over the years, more and more lines
were laid under the sea, so today a huge network of fiber-optic cables stretches around
the entire globe.
4. Google
The main purpose of Google is to search for text in publicly accessible documents
offered by web servers, as opposed to other data, such as images or data contained in
databases. It was originally developed in 1997 by Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Scott
Hassan.
5. Google class
It is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aim to simplify creating,
distributing, and grading assignments; the purpose is to streamline the process of
sharing files between teachers and students. It was created/invented by Jonathan
Rochelle and was announced on May 6, 2014 and released publicly on August 12, 2014.
6. Zoom
Zoom or “Zoom Cloud Meeting” is a proprietary video teleconferencing software
program developed by Zoom Video Communications. It was originally founded in year
2011, authored by Eric Yuan and initially released in September 10, 2012.
7. Learning Management System
It is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting,
automation and delivery of educational courses, training program, or learning and
development program. The first learning management system was created and used in
1924, invented by Sidney Pressey.
8. Facebook
It is an online social networking website where people can create profiles, share
information such as photos and quotes about themselves, and respond or link to the
information posted by others. Facebook was founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerburg,
Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes, all of whom were students at
Harvard University.
9. Data Privacy
Data Privacy or information privacy is a branch of data security concerned with the
proper handling of data – consent, notice, and regulatory obligations. The United States
jurists Samuel D. Warren and Louis Brandeis wrote “The Right to Privacy” an article in
which they argued for the “right to be let alone”, using that phrase as a definition of
privacy.
10. Digital learners
They are actively using technology to learn on multiple devices, and appreciate high-
value, engaging, interactive, on-demand course materials and support, anytime and
anywhere. One of the first instances of online learning in the world can be traced back
to 1960, at the University of Illinois, USA.

1. If you will be given a choice, what kind of living would you prefer, pre-digital era or mid-digital
era? And why?
For me if will be given a choice, I prefer to live during mid-digital era, because it makes
our life easier.
2. In this time of pandemic, what are the technology/ies you utilized/need to learned about to
cope up with this time of crisis?
As a student during this time of pandemic I’ve been using mobile phone and
stable/unstable internet connection to cope up with my lessons, and to communicate to
others.
