Comment: This is not yet notable - the only sources are to articles published by the researcher who came up with the system, and they are on ResearchGate, which is not a reliable source as it allows anybody to upload documents and is not peer-reviewed. If in the future the method becomes widely used, please rewrite the article to include citations to sources that are independent (so not articles written by the person who invented the method but third parties who are not directly involved in the topic) and reliable (not ResearchGate but for example reputable newspapers or academic publications). In addition, to show that the topic is notable, you need to show that there is SIGNIFICANT coverage of it in independent, verifiable and reliable sources. Lijil (talk) 08:16, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
E-Unduk is a research-based digital judging framework developed to improve transparency, consistency, and efficiency in multi-criteria evaluation processes, particularly for cultural competitions. It was designed by technologist Ts. Aedeshie Daisy Rayner as part of her doctoral research in Information Technology at Open University Malaysia. The framework has been formally recognised for use in Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2025.
Overview
[edit]E-Unduk is a modular e-judging platform that applies two Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques: Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) for initial filtering and the Borda Count method for consensus-based ranking. It structures evaluation into three stages—Top 15, Top 7, and Final 3—to ensure standardised scoring across all rounds.
The platform was conceptualised to address scoring inconsistencies in legacy manual methods. It is built on open-source tools and provides real-time ranking, traceable evaluator inputs, and adjustable weight assignments per criterion.
Development
[edit]E-Unduk was initially designed in response to evaluation delays and inconsistency observed during the 2019 Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan. It was later applied in government-led evaluation contexts, including the monthly MAMPU Sabah exemplary officer programme in 2022 and the Sabah Public Sector Innovation Awards (ISAS 2023).[1]
Recognition and Use
[edit]In 2025, E-Unduk was formally acknowledged by the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan State Committee under KDCA. Its developer was appointed to lead the Technical Judging Committee for that year's implementation.[2] The framework has also been documented and submitted as a utility patent with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO).[3]
Documentation
[edit]E-Unduk has been described in self-archived academic materials available via ResearchGate, detailing its system architecture, scoring logic, and pilot evaluation outcomes.[4]
