Applications with the testo Smart App
Refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems and heat pumps, heating systems, indoor air quality:
- Leak test: Recording and analysis of the pressure drop curve.
- Superheat and subcooling: Automatic determination of condensation and evaporation temperature and calculation of superheat / subcooling.
- Target superheat: Automatic calculation of target superheat
- Automatic refrigerant charging by weight, by superheat, by subcooling, and by target superheat
- Vacuum measurement: Graphical progress display of the measurement with indication of start and differential value
Indoor climate monitoring:
- Indoor air quality: automatic calculation of the dew point and wet-bulb temperature
- Temperature, humidity, lux, UV, pressure, CO2: the right data logger for every application – from a single solution to an online monitoring system"
Ventilation systems:
- Volume flow: After the intuitive input of the duct cross-section, the app calculates the volume flow fully automatically.
- Diffuser measurements: simple parameterisation of the diffuser (dimensions and geometry), comparison of the volume flows of several diffusers when setting up a ventilation system, continuous and multi-point average calculation.
Heating systems:
- Flue gas measurement: Second screen function in combination with testo 300
- Measurement of gas flow and static gas pressure: Also possible parallel to the flue gas measurement (delta P)
- Measurement of flow and return temperatures (delta T)
Thermography:
- Determining Delta T on heating, refrigeration/air conditioning, and industrial systems
- Detecting hot/cold spots
- Assessing the risk of mold
Food safety:
Temperature Control Points (CP/CCP):
- Seamless documentation of measured values to fulfill HACCP specifications
- Individually definable limit values and measurement comments within the App for each measurement point
- Reporting and data export for regulatory requirements and internal quality assurance
Frying oil quality:
- Seamless documentation of measured values as well as calibration and adjustment of the measurement instrument
- Individually definable limit values and measurement comments within the App for each measurement point
- Reporting and data export for regulatory requirements and internal quality assurance

Ratings and Reviews
App can’t remember it’s installed weak Bluetooth range.
As with many other frustrated users. After using the old app successfully for years. I removed then replaced the old "testo Smart Probe App" with the new "testo Smart App". As other users stated. Once launched, It continues to ask you to install the new app. Clicking on install, takes you back to Apple apps which then gives you the option to open the app. This occurs every thine the app is opened. Also when using the 605i (even with fresh batteries). Bluetooth range averages 7-8 feet. It’s as if the refer walls are blocking the signal. Paid hundreds of dollars for the Testo kit with (1) 605i, (2) 549i. Having not used the 549i yet. I’m sure their quality… Though, did I make the wrong choice of equipment, due to poor software design. Their useless without the integration.
Developer Response ,
Hello, We apologise that you are having problems with the app. So could you please try the following: 1. Deinstall proper all the Apps, means "testo Smart Probes" and also "testo Smart". 2. Now install the "testo Smart App" freshly from the Apple App Store. Does it now work? (no messages again to install the new App)?
Could you please tell us the partnumber of your Smart Probes? The "old" Smart Probes have a lower BT range than the "new" Smart Probes. Best regards, Testo App Team
Needs work, but good.
I’d rate it a full five stars but while in refrigeration measurement you cannot record either supply, return or ambient at the same time.
If I can add this to my field report, which is honesty way nicer than the fieldpiece job link app, I’d change this to five stars.
It is however a very nice software to record real time data for customers and the graphs really do help you catch problems the naked eye normal wouldn’t see. There’s also different measurements that make this the best hvac app in the trade.
Love this app and the tools, One problem though…
I am a commercial/industrial chiller technician, and I use my testos daily. Absolutely love them, have had them since I first got in the field. However, recently I am noticing that the saturation temperature is displayed at the bottom of the UI, on its own tab now. Instead of directly under the pressure reading. Not sure if it is a bug or new addition, however I’m severely concerned. This makes referencing less easier and less comfortable than it used to be, and I would love to see it be able to be toggled, or removed.
Developer Response ,
Wow, thank you so much for the 5-star rating! We’re truly delighted to receive your positive feedback.
Regarding the issue you mentioned, it’s unfortunately a bug, not a feature. We’ve been working for several days to reproduce it, but so far, we haven’t been able to replicate it on our iPhones. Could you let us know which iPhone model and iOS version you’re using?
It would be a great help if you could send us an email at [email protected] with this information. Thank you in advance for your support!
Best regards,
Your Testo App Team
