Jennifer Lawrence and her Hunger Games co-stars have spoken about the jokes and various hijinks had on the set of their multi-billion-dollar franchise. And in a new junket interview, from the series’s final film, Mockingjay, Part 2, Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth band together to prank the sketch-comedy stars of the YouTube series Smosh, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox, for Prank It FWD—a charitable initiative partnered with DoSomething.org to donate $1 for every 1,000 views. (It’s a little confusing, but Padilla and Hecox think they are tricking Lawrence, who turns the tables on them.)
In the video, Lawrence attempts to turn off her charm and freeze out Hecox but, in true J.Law form, the amiable actress cannot completely ice out her prank foe, even with Hutcherson and Hemsworth directing her behind the scenes.
Just last week, Woody Harrelson described one of his more recent gags pulled on the Hunger Games team.
“I did one prank on April Fools’ Day where I got our makeup artist to come over to my house and make my face look like I’d been in a bad bike wreck and skidded, blood everywhere,” Harrelson told The Independent. “I rang [director] Francis Lawrence as I was supposed to film the next day and asked him what I should do. He said, ‘First, you need to get to the hospital!’ Then I called Liam and told him to come to the hospital to pick me up, but I made the name up and of course there was no such place.“
“That was a dark one,” Harrelson conceded. “[It] played on people’s sympathies.”
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 opens in theaters November 20.
