BUSINESS MODEL

CANVAS (BMC)
• It is a strategic management tool to quickly and easily define and communicate a
business idea or concept.

• It is a one page document which works through the fundamental elements of a business
or product, structuring an idea in a coherent way.

• Consists of 9 blocks
Identification, Evaluation and Explaining the Nine Blocks
of BMC.

1.Key Partners-What non-key activities can you outsource to enable


you to focus more on your key activities?
- List the tasks and activities that are important but which you will
not do yourself. Instead, you will use suppliers and partner to
make the business model work.

2.Key Activities – What unique strategic activities does your


business perform to deliver your value proposition?
3.Key resources-What unique strategic resources does your business have or need ?
- Most important strategic assets :
a. Physical (building, vehicles, machines and distribution networks)
b. Intellectual (brands, specialist knowledge, patents and copyright, and customer
databases)
c. Human-Sometimes your people will be your most key resource
financial-lines of credit, cash balances, etc.

4.Value proposition-Why do customers buy from you? What is the gain you provide or the
need you satisfy?

5. Customer relationship-How do you get, keep, and grow your customers?


- Get (how do your customers find out about you and make their initial purchase/
- Keep (How do you keep customers? how do you create customer loyalty?
- Grow (How do you get our customers to spend more?

6. Channels – How are your products and services reached to the market
7. Customer segments – Who are your customers?

8. Cost structure – What are the major costs incurred by your business?

9.Revenue streams – How does your business earn money? Where your revenue is
generated.
