BCMS, List of the batch files in BCMS_V0
The BCMS directory contains the following batch files, which are small executable programs that
carry the extension .bat. These files may be used to archive, copy and/or save the programme
or part of the programme to floppy or Hard Disk.
To use these files you must first exit the BCMS programme
and then run them in DOS.
1 BCMSREST.BAT
This file restores the BCMSB file, created at the Bottero plant by the check test
before the machine was despatched. It is a saved copy of the programme. Should
there be a problem with the principle file during installation it is possible to recover
a working version of the programme. Contemporarily, after having restored the file,
a new copy is automatically created with name BCMSCOPY.
2 AUTOOS.BAT
This file is for internal use when the operating system restore diskette is created
labelled BKUPOS.BAT. This file is renamed on the diskette as Autoexec.bat.
DO NOT RUN THIS FILE FROM THE HARD DISK.
3 BKUP.BAT
This file creates a copy of the BCMS programme and relative configuration files on
one or more diskettes. At least 2 formatted 1.44[Mb] diskettes should be available
when performing this operation.
4 BKUPCFG.BAT
This file archives the machine’s configuration files onto floppy disk. To run this
operation copy the programme PKZIP.EXE to the diskette and then type
“BKUPCFG name” where ‘name’ may be substituted by GG machine.
5 BKUPFULL.BAT
This file archives all the programme files, configuration and also all the profiles,
programmes and optimizations onto floppy disk. It creates a zipped copy of the
contents of the BCMS directory. The quantity of diskettes required by the
compression programme depends on the quantity of profiles, optimizations and
programmes to be archived.
6 BKUPOS.BAT
This file copies the OS system files onto floppy disk. If, for example,
COMMAND.COM is cancelled by mistake the operating system will not boot.
Should problems of this type occur, insert the disk labelled BKUPOS despatched
with the machine into drive A: and switch on the computer. All the system files will
automatically be restored.
7 CARBK.BAT
This file archives to floppy disk all the loader’s configuration files.
8 CARUP.BAT
This file restores the loader’s configuration files previously created with
CARBK.BAT.
9 COPYALL.BAT
This file has been created as a substitute to the DOS command XCOPY and copies
the entire BCMS directory to hard disk under the default directory name BCMS2.
To create a directory with a different name and/or destination edit: COPYALL d:
destination (e.g. c: bcms777)
