"Good afternoon team!

Thank you all for joining to this leadership

development session today. Ehmm I'm Gerson Cuellar AM from
HughesNet Colombia and Guyana, and I'm excited to be here sharing
one of the tips that I use the most to understand the people who I work
with… and also find the best way possible to develop them and create a
positive impact on their lives.

We need to take into consideration that we are leaders, and as leaders

we have a huuuuge responsibility to positively impact the people in our
environment, one of the worst things we can think as leaders is assume
that everyone is equal because each one of us is unique.

So

With "Today's session I want to share with you a relatively modern

psychology concept of how to analyze the personalities of the people,
how to associate the personality to a bird

So this is all about understanding personality types and learning how to

work effectively with each one. I want to explore the traits of different
personality types and discuss strategies to make a significant impact
when working with each type."

"Before we start, I'd love to hear from you. Have you ever heard about
this concept the DOPE or bird style test?

If not, let me make it briefly, the concept says we can characterize

ourselves as four birds, a Dove, an Owl, a peacock and an eagle.

SLIDE 2

So let’s begin with an icebreaker, it doesn’t matter if you don’t know the
concept but think what bird do you think you are, please everyone share
it in the chat.

After you write it, I would like you to confirm it directly with the test…

https://richardstep.com/dope-personality-type-quiz/dope-bird-4-
personality-types-test-questions-online-version/."

After you finish the test please respond in your own message your
results.
Thank you team for the responses!

So lets talk a little bit about each one of these birds:

SLIDE 3

"Let's start with the Dove personality. Doves are known for their kind,
cooperative nature. They seek harmony and tend to avoid conflicts.

When you are working with Doves, it's important to be kind and create a
safe a environment. Avoid direct confrontations, because they may find
these situations pretty much uncomfortable."

This is the kind of person that likes to resolve conflicts and create a
supportive work environment, for example they like to be the first
volunteers to help others they try to be positive but calm.

So if you have this person in your team, they are good to help you with
those conflicts, they are valuable to help you to create a truly
cooperative and supportive atmosphere.

PERSON so based on what I saw in the chat "Do you identify with the
Dove personality? If so… How do you feel about these characteristics? Or
maybe you've worked with someone who is a Dove—how did you find
that experience?"

SLIDE 4

Well now lets talk a little bit about the OWL, did you know the owl
usually is associated with wisedom? Actually if we keep associating Owls
are analytical, detail-oriented, and focused on data and precision. They
work constantly on logic and consistency." Personally one of the
personalities that I like to work the most.

So to work with them give them data, talk to them with logic and
coherence, give them details and with all that information and logic let
them think to arm their ideas and follow their logic.

This is the person that loves to go into excel and analyze the data, look
for trends do tables and charts for most of the things they can associate
with that, they are the ones who finds those insights that the other birds
cant. For detailed action plans they are the best ones, they want to
mitigate till the minimum risk with their logic.

Take care of this ones, they are the ones who help you to find new ideas
based on data, they help you to be more accurate and efficient in what
you do, reaaaally necessary in our BPO industry.

So lets see PERSON I saw in the chat you are an OWL, what do you think
about it, do you agree you are that person? Have you worked with
another owl? How was that experience?

SLIDE 5

Now lets see a beautiful bird, you see it and the way they flirt is opening
those feathers to be seen, they like the attention, so yes this is the
peacock.

A peacock is that person that likes to be the center of attention, and do

not misunderstand me, that is not a bad thing. This is the happy an
enthusiastic person, they like to talk with the people to socialize with
them, they like to hear but even more to be heard. This is the person
that is creative on our dynamic environments the one who gives you the
funny ideas hahaha.

Give them opportunities, recognize their work and approach them

positively and you will see them engaged and motivated with what they
do. This is the person that will help you to build good relationships with
others, their charisma its always good for your team motivation.

They are the ones who does the best presentations and provide great
ideas, as creative persons they are good for marketing related things
and as I mentioned before, create those good relationships, lets say a
community manager hahaha.

PERSON… I saw you are a peacock, what do you think about it? Do you
feel identified? Do you have another peer like that?

Hey remember a peacock is going to give you energy, innovation and

positivity to our work environments, Take care of them.
SLIDE 6

Now the last one the Eagle… they like to hunt, so they are decisive,
direct, straight to the results, they want to get the things done, they like
the challenges and lead them.

When you are working with an eagle, go straight to the point, be clear,
do not try to make up the things, they want to have the control and have
constant challenges to be motivated.

They are the ones that says “the ends justify the means” they are not
afraid to do tough moves and take the responsibility of the outcomes.
They have an ability to take quick and strategic decisions to be focused
and productive.

So… the "Eagles excels in leadership, decision-making, and project

management. For instance, they might be the ones who take charge of a
critical project, leading the team with a clear vision and decisive
actions."

Well lets see who is an eagle here, do you consider yourself as a natural
leader? Or have you worked with an eagle? If so… do you think they are
decisive on projects or plans?

I think it is really important to take care of an eagle, give them important

things to do, provide constant challenges to them and truly important let
them take decisions and hunt those results as an eagle.

SLIDE 7

Lets resume:

On how to be more effective working with them.

[Communication Adaptation]

 Dove: hey 'I appreciate your efforts in keeping the team

harmonious. How can we work together to resolve this?'
 Owl: "look For instance, 'The data indicates that we need to adjust
our strategy to improve efficiency by 20%. Here are the steps we
can take.' What do you think here?

 Peacock: hey 'Your presentation was fantastic and really captured

everyone's attention. I would love to hear more of your ideas.'

 Eagle: hey 'We need to achieve these targets by the end of the
month. I trust you can lead the team to success.'

[Motivation and Recognition]

 Dove: 'Your efforts in mediating the team's disagreements have

been invaluable. Thank you for creating such a positive
environment.

 Owl: 'Your detailed analysis of the report was incredibly helpful.

It's clear how much effort you put into it to give such a clear
analysis.

 Peacock: 'That presentation you designed was a huge success

and showed your creativity brilliantly. Well done!'

 Eagle:,'Your leadership on the project was outstanding, and your

decisions led us to a successful outcome. Great job!
