Chapter 6 - The Triangle And Its Properties

1. AM is a median of a triangle ABC.

Is AB + BC + CA > 2 AM? (Consider the sides of triangles ΔABM and ΔAMC.)

2. A 15 m long ladder reached a window 12 m high from the ground on placing

it against a wall at a distance a. Find the distance of the foot of the ladder
from the wall.

2. Find the whole quantity if (a) 5% of it is 600 (b) 12% of it is 1080
3. Out of 15, 000 voters in a constituency, 60% voted. Find the percentage
of voters who did not vote. Can you now find how many actually did not
vote?
4. Convert each part of the ratio to percentage: (a) 3:1 (b) 2:3:5 (c) 1:4 (d) 1:2:5

5. Find the sum: (i) (ii)

6. Find the value of:(i) (ii)

Chapter 11 - Perimeter And Area

1. The area of a square park is the same as of a rectangular park. If the side
of the square park is 60 m and the length of the rectangular park is 90 m,
find the breadth of the rectangular park.
2. DL and BM are the heights on sides AB and AD respectively of parallelogram
ABCD (see the given figure). If the area of the parallelogram is 1470 cm2, AB =
35 cm and AD = 49 cm, find the length of BM and DL.

3. ΔABC is isosceles with AB = AC = 7.5 cm and BC = 9 cm (see the given figure).

The height AD from A to BC, is 6 cm. Find the area of ΔABC. What will be the
height from C to AB i.e., CE?

4. Find the perimeter of the adjoining figure, which is a semicircle including its
diameter.

5. A garden is 90 m long and 75 m broad. A path 5 m wide is to be built

outside and around it. Find the area of the path. Also find the area of the
garden in hectare.
