7. A water pipe has an external radius of 4.9m and internal radius of 3.5m. Find the
mass of 20m of the pipe if it is made of material of density 25g/m3.Leave your

10. Use a ruler and a pair of compass only, construct a parallelogram PQRS such that
PQ = 8cm PS = 4.5cm and angle QPS = 60o. Measure PR. (3 marks)

11. Use the trapezium rule to find the area bounded by the curve y = x3-54, the x – axis
and the lines x = 4 and x = 6. Use four trapezia. (3 marks)
12. Five tractors working 3 hours a day can take 2 days to cultivate 12 acres of land.
How many days would 3 tractors working 4 hours a day take to cultivate 60
acres of land. (3 marks)

13. A bus starts its journey from A towards B at 7.30 a.m. at a speed of 83km/hr. After
30 minutes, a salon car starts from A towards B at an average speed of 123km/hr.
At what time did the car overtake the bus. (4 marks)

14. In a typing competition, one person takes 4 minutes while the other person takes
6 minutes to type one page. How long will it take to type 60 pages. (3 marks)

22. The diagram below shows the speed-time graph for a bus travelling between two

travels at a constant speed for 60 seconds and finally decelerates uniformly for 40
seconds. Given that the distance between the two stations in 2375m.

23. Tap X fills a tank in 40 hours, tap Y fills it in 15 hours and tap Z fills the tank in 20
hours. The three taps are turned on together at 8:00a.m when the tank is empty for
5 hours, after which tap Z is turned off. Two hours later tap Y is turned off.

(a) Calculate the portion of the water in the tank after 5 hours. (3 marks)

(b) Determine the portion of water in the tank after 7 hours. (4 marks)

(c) Determine the time when the tank will be completely full. (3 marks)
24. A curve has the equation y=x3-6x2+9x+5.

(a) Find the point where the curve cuts the y axis
