2.0 INTERNATIONAL STANDARD, QatarEnergy CODES AND STANDARDS & SHELL DEP STANDARDS

CONTRACTOR shall incorporate in the WORK the requirements of the below listed QatarEnergy
Standard Specifications. Unless a specific revision or issue date for a particular QatarEnergy code
or standard is listed in this Attachment-5, the latest revision shall be deemed to apply. In the
event of conflict between the requirements of Qatar statutory authorities, QatarEnergy codes &
standards, and the international codes & standards listed in this Attachment-5, CONTRACTOR
shall report the conflict to QatarEnergy. CONTRACTOR shall prepare the CONTRACT
Specifications, as directed by QatarEnergy, to avoid any conflicts. The WORK shall be performed
in accordance with the requirements of all applicable QatarEnergy and international standards
and the relevant drawings (provided in Appendix F). Responsibility for ensuring the correct
interpretation of the applicable Specification, Codes and Standards in accordance with
QatarEnergy requirements shall rest with the QatarEnergy REPRESENTATIVE. In case of doubt
CONTRACTOR shall contact the QatarEnergy REPRESENTATIVE for clarification. The latest revision
of the following standards and codes shall be utilized. In case a particular document is superseded,
withdrawn, made obsolete or had its title changes, QatarEnergy reserves the right to select the
substituting document.

CONTRACTOR shall carry out the WORK in accordance with good engineering practice and the
latest revisions of all Shell DEPs, QatarEnergy, and recognized International Codes of Practice,
Standards and Specifications and their addenda shall be used.

CONTRACTOR shall use his own copies of all International and National Standards.

New Installations should follow DEPs in their entirety. Tie-in to existing facilities, if any, shall be
reviewed on a case by case basis by the respective plant QatarEnergy standard to maximise the
application of Shell DEPs.

Upgrades and modifications in existing facilities should maximise the use of Shell DEPs. In case a
particular DEP does not largely meet the specific requirement, then the relevant Corporate
Technical Standard or Engineering Standards (a standard issued by EE) or an existing
Departmental technical specification may be considered in place of the DEP. Justification for
exception to the DEP should be provided by the CONTRACTOR and approval obtained from
QatarEnergy. For tie-in to existing facilities during modifications, application of DEPs will be
maximized on a case by case basis.

Should any conflict arise, the following ranking of precedence shall apply, in descending order:

1. Qatar Statutory Regulations

2. Corporate / Regulation

3. Corporate / Philosophies excluding Corporate / QatarEnergy Technical Standards and

Technical Specifications

4. QatarEnergy Amendments to Shell DEPs

5. CONTRACT Specific Specifications
