English Language Questions and Answers

Once upon a time there lived a hen. There are so many children but all are male. The hen
feels very sad because it has not been blessed with female chicks. His children were
surprised by his mother's sadness. 'Ma'am, why are you sad? Don't you feel happy to have
male children like us?'

The mother hen answered: 'Listen son, I am happy to have beautiful boys like you. I really
love you guys. But I am very sad, because after you grow up, humans will turn you into
fighting chickens. You will be competed against other roosters. A sharp blade will be
attached to your starch, as will your opponent's rooster. Humans will not be satisfied if
there is not one rooster that has lost and died.'

One of his children asked again: 'But ma'am, what is used as a fighting cock by humans is a
handsome good-looking rooster. While bad roosters won't be turned into fighting chickens.'

'It's true, son. But you also have to know that ugly chickens will be made into chicken pieces,
slaughtered for human food.' The mother answered. 'That's how my children's human

'It's not good to follow humans, ma'am. Humans are greedy and don't know themselves.

'Then what should we eat? It has always been humans who always give us food.' answered
one of the chicks.

'Well, we look for food alone in the forest. In the forest a lot of food as long as we want to go
to great lengths to look for it. Even if it's only a little it's okay, what's important is being free
from humans.' the other chicks answered.

Hearing the child's proposal, the hen agreed. 'All right, we all just run to the forest. We will
learn to look for food ourselves. I don't want you to be victims of human abuse. Let us go to
great lengths to find our own food, as long as we are happy.' Thus the origin of the
partridge. They actually have lived side by side with humans. But now the number of
pheasants is getting smaller because many forests have been converted into human
settlements.
