INTRODUCTION

Introduction
1. General
A. This manual is written to the iSpec 2200 and in ASD Simplified Technical English (STE). The
international SI units of measurement are used in this manual, with imperial units shown in
parentheses.
B. The manual contains data about maintenance on the component in a workshop. It does not
contain data about maintenance on the component when it is installed in the aircraft.
C. Only approved persons with the necessary skills are permitted to do the maintenance procedures
in this manual.
D. Maintenance Task Oriented Support System (MTOSS) task and subtask identification is used in
this manual. The maintenance tasks and other data have special MTOSS numbers for Electronic
Data Processing (EDP). The user of the manual can ignore the MTOSS numbers.
E. This manual contains:
- Technical data for the component
- Maintenance and repair procedures about the component
- An Illustrated Parts List (IPL) with data for the component parts. Parts are identified in all
sections of the manual by the IPL-Figure and item number.
F. We verified the DISASSEMBLY, TESTING and ASSEMBLY procedures by simulation.
2. How to use the Manual
A. Make sure that the manual contains the information applicable to your component.
B. If you need to identify a part or find a part number, use the search function.
C. You must use the instructions in this manual for all the component maintenance. Read all the
applicable WARNINGS and CAUTIONS before you do the work on the component.

A. Maintenance
(1) Check link for deformation and cracks.
(2) Cracked parts must be replaced.

(3) Parts with more than 6 deg. deformation are not reworkable (Refer to FIGURE
52-12-13-991-002-A).
(4) Rework must be carried out using heat treatment facilities and heatable tools.
(5) Before beginning heat treatment, identify the material of the link in accordance with
TABLE 4.

(6) Remove paintwork from linkage assy.

(7) Remove self-aligning bearing from link with milling and 6810226614 Bearing Retainer
Extractor - forward passenger/crew doors - link bearings.
(8) Remove slide bearings with 6810226619 Bearing Extractor.
(9) Check link for cracks using an approved nondestructive test.
(10) Carry out reworking of link using hot forming procedure in accordance with TABLE 4.
(11) After reworking carry out nondestructive test and make certain that no cracks exist.
(12) If the link is free from cracks, carry out conductivity test (NTM, 51-30-00, Part 1).
(13) Install slide bearings in accordance with standard procedure (Specification 80-T-34-9020).
(14) Install self-aligning bearing with milling and 65601NSA5101000 Insertion Tool.
(15) Renew paintwork

WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE MATERIAL NO. 16-020 WASH PRIMER.
OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS.
(a) Apply Material No. 16-020 Wash Primer and allow to dry.

WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE MATERIAL NO. 16-001 ANTI

CORROSION PRIMER (POLYURETHANE). OBEY THE MATERIAL
MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS.
(b) Apply Material No. 16-001 Anti Corrosion Primer (Polyurethane) and allow to dry.

WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE MATERIAL NO. 16-002 POLYURETHANE

TOPCOAT GREY (FOR INTERNAL APPLIC.). OBEY THE MATERIAL
MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS.
