The Vice Principal Speaks….
“The aim of education is the knowledge, not of
facts, but of values.”
William S Burroughs

W e are living in the 'fast moving' age and the role of

education has radically changed over the years.
The scope and focus of education has evolved and
so has the role of an educator. Today the schools need to be
effective at engaging learners towards meaningful
construction of knowledge and encourage them through
appropriate integration of technology to apply learning into
action and relevant outcome. At Apeejay, while technology
would do its bit, teachers as facilitators add the desired
human touch and provide opportunities to the students to
develop critical thinking skills and engender values that help
them become responsible learners.

Since its inception, Apeejay has built itself on the steady

foundation of human values and the urge to excel. The
endeavor has always been to balance excellence in academics
with creativity and compassion. At Apeejay, we provide
opportunities where a child challenges his own ability, hence

"Alone we can do little, together we can do so much."
Holistic development and alumni engagement are pivotal aspects of a comprehensive educational approach. They go beyond
academic excellence to nurture well-rounded individuals equipped with knowledge, essential life skills, and emotional
intelligence. In this context, we present below an interview with our principal, Mrs. Veena Goel. She emphasizes the significance
of Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL) and its integration into the school's approach. Her focus underscores holistic development and

the trash. I mean I decided to cut down on eating it, though I haven't totally stopped it. I'm just a kid who loves junk food, but
I only treat myself sometimes because I don't want to end up being unhealthy.

It wasn't easy to quit junk food right away. It took me a while to slowly eat less of it, and you can do it too! You've got to aim for
a balanced diet with good stuff like healthy fats ( very important but to be eaten in moderation ), carbs, proteins, and all those
vitamins and minerals. Try to avoid the bad stuff like white flour, unhealthy fats, and sugars. For snacks, I go for healthier
options like nuts, dried fruits, and sprouts.

I try to steer clear of packaged foods and sugary drinks, but hey, if you really want to have them, you may have them once in a
blue moon. Some folks think eating less is the key to losing weight, but studies say low-carb may not be helpful for 'healthy'
weight loss. Eating a low-carb diet ( also known as a keto diet ) can stunt the height of some kids. And always remember that
being healthy does not completely mean being like a model. For the workout, it's enough to workout or indulge in any
physical activity for 1 hour or more per day.

I try to do this in my daily routine to be healthy. So, that's why I kicked junk food to the curb. It was kinda tough but worth it.
Trust me, your body will thank you for it!

How's that?

That
Y ou wake up early one day. You do your morning chores. You get ready for the day and
step out of the house. You have a long day ahead of you. You work, listen, speak and
write. When you hit the hay at night, you feel more than just the exhaustion from work.
You feel like you've lost a chance to do something consequential.
Yeah, many people have those moments. Ever wondered why? Why does it seem like you're
hitting the wrong note even when you're doing well at everything you do? Why does
something inside keep poking you, pushing you further, daring you to dare?
Well, some things matter more than others.
Maybe it's worthwhile to take a little break, sit back and contemplate.
Some people are better at some things than other people. But these same people are also
worse at some other things. And that's okay.
Why? Because everyone has a different identity.
No, I won't use the word 'personality'. A personality can be for show. Many people have
'personalities' presenting a false image to society. An identity is a different thing. Your
identity is defined by who you are, what you like, what you are good at, the principles you
believe in, the ideas that inspire you, and the sources of your motivation. And those factors
can't be the same for everyone.
'Follow your heart.' A famous saying, sure, but does even half the massive population of India
know what it means? Do they realise its significance?
'Passion' is a strong word. Your passion is something that blazes like a fire within you. It is a
desire that goes deeper than the ocean. In pursuit of passion, you can achieve greatness.
Let's return to that talk of things that matter more than others. What I'm signalling at is your
passion, your interests. You, of all people, must have your own best interests at heart. I, for
example, enjoy reading novels, dancing and getting to know new things. I want to make a
real difference in the society as an adult. I know I can set realistic goals that I can meet.
What about you?
As you head home today, remember: your path is ultimately your decision. You are the driver
who can drive you to happiness, and your heart is the GPS. So let that little spark inside you
flare up to a roaring flame and illuminate the road for you. And forget not a wise quote:
"When your heart speaks, take good notes. "

Books: Magical Worlds
Encased in Pages
(A Reader's Perspective)
"There are bits and pieces of yourself scattered in the books you read"
-Unknown

A book is not just a collection of words but a source of happiness and therapy for the soul. As a ferverant reader, I find
solace and joy within these pages. Reading is not just an escape from reality but also a journey where anything is
possible. I have wandered through the halls of Hogwarts with Harry, Ron and Hermione, braved the arena with
Katniss and Peeta and fought the monsters of Greek Mythology with Percy, Annabeth and Grover.

People may say that books are heavy but that is because they contain the weight of entire worlds in them, a universe
brimming with untold stories, rich characters and boundless possibilities waiting to be explored. They are thrilling
escapades' that do not require me to leave the comfort of my favourite book nook. They are my trusted companions in
unleashing the immeasurable power of imagination, fuelling my creativity and inspiring me to dream big.

Yet amidst that wonder, there is a sense of a comforting familiarity in revisiting the pages of a well loved, all-time-favourite
book and loosing myself in my fictional home and crying , laughing , and living with old friends who exist only in our hearts.

Here, there is everything - adventures, mysteries, despair, bliss, friendship, heroism, values and most of all hope with just a
touch of magic that engulfs the life of all readers. These precious treasures aren't just ink and paper they are an indelible
mark and have a corner of my heart all to themselves. As the last chapter of a book finishes, I am constantly reminded that
the journey does not end there. For the lessons learned, the memories made and the connections forged ignite
inquisitiveness long a er the final page has been turned.

So, let raise our wands, don our camp-half-blood t-shirts and May the odds be ever in our favour as we embark on another
odyssey through our literary treasures a er all-

AWARENESS ON
MENTAL HEALTH
“It is okay to not be okay”
D o you ever experience a sudden fast heartbeat, unable to breathe, shivering of limbs, profused sweating; the
physical symptoms of mental breakdown are many but these are few significant ones. Before we dig into the
importance of mental health, we should first be aware of what actually mental illnesses look like and why is it so
important to be aware of their symptoms

With words like anxiety and depression becoming such commonplace in our society, we need to understand the problem
and figure out how to cope with it. Perhaps the first thing we need to do is accept and realise the problem. We need to give as
much priority to mental health as physical health. The reality is that most of us, irrespective of age, gender or financial
status is likely struggling with mental health issues. With the fear of being stigmatized, people are not seeking help &
suffering in silence. But still, they are not ready to accept it. They tend to ignore the state of their minds and push it away as if
it doesn't matter or exist.

Mental health influences what people feel, what they think, and how they behave. People need to focus on themselves, give
themselves a time to go through their thoughts, find peace in their minds. Sometimes we just need to come out, accept &
take professional help, to understand our pain and during the process we learn how to heal ourselves. We don't always have
to keep hustling & be a part of the rat race, sometimes it's okay to pause, to ponder about our journey.

"Being lost is good.

If you don't get lost,
You can't find yourself."

We can try to improve our mental well being by taking small steps. Try to connect with nature
& people, and not completely rely on technology. Try to meditate, indulge into
something that you love, practice healthy diet & exercise. Sometimes helping
others can also make us feel better. It gives a feeling of purpose and self-
worth.

" They say, 'Find your purpose’

A tree doesn't need to wander in the hills to realise it's true

purpose, And what greater purpose can it serve than
bestowing the air that breathes life into this planet

We need to have complete faith in existence and walk the

path carved for us…….we are part of existence not against it

CAN PERFECTION EVER
BECOME REALITY?
"Life calls not for perfection, but for
completeness." - C.G. Jung

T he idea of 'perfection' is something that plagues many of us in our society, causing feelings of inadequacy. While none
of us is a perfectionist, these days all of us seek perfection for some aspect of our lives, and instead of doing a good job
and trying our best, we tend to overly self-evaluate, set excessively high achievement standards, and feel like a failure
if certain levels of success are not attained. A question that arises is, "What will other people think of us?". We've all grown up
in a society where everyone just wants us to blend in the crowd. When we try to do something different, out of our comfort
zone, we are o en said to be seeking attention. The ground reality is, we are not seeking attention, we all are just trying to
attain 'perfection'.

When we're scrolling through social media or watching our favorite shows on television, at times we wonder 'how can these
guys be so perfect?'. Even if we keep media life aside, there are some people in our surroundings, who we look up to or who
have achieved success in their life. We might think they are perfect, but they're not. People have way more in life than we're
even aware of. We can understand it by looking at it from a different perspective. There may be many people who might think
we are perfect. But we know, we're not. No one is actually.

In my opinion, perfection is a concept that is ever-evolving, and o entimes we cannot even define it ourselves. It at times,
creates more suffering than joy, more confusion than success and more self-doubt than productivity. O en, it blinds us to the
beauty of imperfection. We start to compare our real selves with some unrealistic ideals set for us. If we really want to strive
for perfection, we need to start embracing our flaws. The flaws and imperfections make us each unique, beautiful, and
'ourselves'. By letting go of unrealistic standards and embracing our imperfections, we open ourselves up to a world filled
with more opportunities.

To answer the question, I do believe that perfection can become reality. Actually, when we do what we're passionate about,
irrespective of what others presume, we're not just seeking perfection, we are more like creating perfection in our own way.
Happiness is perfection. Finding your true self is perfection. Hard work is perfection. Embracing our insecurities and working
on them is perfection. Setting goals and no matter what, striving for them is perfection. A erall, imperfection is the real
perfection. It embodies authenticity, resilience, and the beauty of learning from the past, making mistakes and fostering self-
growth. Just like no two snowflakes are alike, each individual possesses a distinct set of imperfections and qualities that
contribute to their identity and character. That's what makes us perfect!

DON'T CONTROL
WHAT YOU CAN'T
" The good man lives in accordance with nature and fears only abdicating his moral responsibility. He does not fear pain,
he does not fear death, he does not fear poverty, he does not fear any of the vissicitudes of the human condition but
fears only that he should let himself down and he should be less than a complete human being." Marcus Aurelius was
the last of the Five Good Roman Emperors and reigned from 161 AD to 180 AD. As the Roman emperor, Marcus was destined
to lead a Hedonistic life, indulged in wealth, lust and greed, unbound by the shackles of modern human society. Precedent
had been set, Marcus would drown in his power, get corrupted and make way for the next emperor. But Marcus, a man of
resolve, refused. He became a pillar of the belief called Stoicism.
Marcus wrote "Meditations", one of the most compelling pieces produced by putting pen to paper. He believed that humans
had to live in accordance to the Order of Nature, undermining external validation and temptations.
Trees grow, not as to garner praise and accolades, but because they're made to do so. The sloppy caterpillar metamorphoses
into a graceful butterfly, not because it desires fame, but because it is made to do so. A frail, featherless chick turns into a
ferocious eagle not to be well received but by design. Humans have a similar motive. We must remain kind and have a heart
of gold, not to be popular, but because we are made to do so. As sentient beings, we are lent eminent power, which blinds us.
While walking our road of life, which leads to eternal salvation, we get lost in the town of pleasures. But the key to walk the
right path is kindness. Not in just one moment or on one day, but day in and day out, everyday of our being. Like a flame, we
are meant to burn bright and provide warmth and eventually flicker and die out, that is the order of nature."DON'T YOU SEE
THE PLANTS, THE BIRDS, AND BEES GOING ABOUT THEIR INDIVIDUAL TASKS, PUTTING THE WORLD IN ORDER, AS BEST THEY
CAN?
AND YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO DO YOUR JOB AS A HUMAN BEING? WHY AREN'T YOU RUNNING TO DO WHAT YOUR NATURE
DEMANDS?" The ultimate goal of human life is to fulfill its potential, not to accumulate riches or accolades. Thus, it is a duty
to be the kindest and most virtuous version of yourself every day. "The only thing worth fearing is unfulfilled potential."
which is the darkest abyss of the human mind.
The universe presents us with 'bad' people all the time and asking it not to do so, is like asking a rose to grow without thorns
and still retain its beauty. There is no trying to control what you cannot. Aurelius believed that people never intended to do
wrong, but did it out of ignorance. You o en can't teach the wicked or the immoral, so just put up with it. Who are you to
judge? You have your own faults, which may differ and thus, you fear to take a deep gaze inside yourself, peering into the soul.
"We are all born for each other." In some situations, we may be the ignorant one and may not realise that we have wronged
someone. That is the difference between right and wrong according to Aurelius.
"NEVER LET THE FUTURE DISTURB YOU. YOU WILL MEET IT, IF YOU HAVE TO, WITH THE SAME WEAPONS OF REASON WHICH
TODAY ARM YOU AGAINST THE PRESENT." What makes us all one as humans, is that we all face adversity. Praying for
adversities to never occur is the fool's errand. They will come at you, guns blazing, and you know it too. It's important not to
mope and lay grieving but be grateful that you have the spirit and valour to endure adversity and get through it all
unscathed. Marcus says that we should face challenges and hurdles in life head on, as cowering in fear only gives them the
edge over our indomitable spirit. Believing that you will never face hardship is a highly toxic and delusional way of thinking
that can lead to man's downfall. "All men die, but not all men die complaining.", perfectly sums up Marcus' belief on how to
win the grim uphill battle against the universe.

"Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gi ...
that's why they call it the present"

"Echoes Across Borders:
The Resilience of a Refugee"
A mid a war-torn land, where the sun dared not shine through the heavy shroud of smoke and misery, lived a young girl
named Leyla. Her world was a symphony of disaster, with the deafening boom of bombs drowning out any murmurs
of hope. But, despite her young age, Leyla possessed a resilience that belied her frail frame-a strength developed of
need in the crucible of tragedy.
Conflict snatched Leyla's childhood, shattering her innocence with its unrelenting onslaught of violence. She watched
tragedies that no human being should ever have to face as her once lively hometown collapsed into rubble before her eyes.
Despite the damage, Leyla clung to a glimmer of hope that danced on the outskirts of despair-a hope that one day she might
find refuge outside the confines of her war-torn home.
So, when the time came to flee, Leyla and her family set out on a dangerous and uncertain voyage into the unknown. They
passed across bleak landscapes and difficult terrain, their footsteps echoing those of many others who had fled in quest of
shelter. Along the way, they met other refugees, each with their burden of pain and loss.
Leyla's determination was put to the test several times during their voyage. She saw the toll that displacement had on her
family and friends-the blank emptiness in their eyes, the tired slouch on their shoulders. Nonetheless, she refused to give in
to despair, holding desperately to the parts of her broken identity.
But the path to safety was fraught with difficulty and suffering. They battled hunger and thirst, tiredness, and illness as they
got closer to the illusive prospect of safety. And just when they believed they'd concluded their adventure, they were met
with a fresh set of problems.
The faraway land's borders loomed before them as an impassable barrier, guarded by bureaucracy and distrust. Their pleas
for asylum went unheard, and their humanity was reduced to figures on paper. Leyla felt the weight of dread land on her
shoulders like a smothering blanket, threatening to destroy the glimmer of hope in her heart.
But Leyla refused to be silent. She li ed her voice in defiance, wanting to be seen and heard in a world that attempted to
erase her existence. Her pleas were finally heard, slowly and agonizingly. Through sheer willpower and unyielding
perseverance, Leyla and her family found safety in the embrace of a new community-one built from the ashes of their shared
pain. As Leyla stood on the verge of a fresh beginning, she realized that her path was a monument not only to her fortitude but
also to the tenacity of the human spirit in the face of incredible suffering.
For Leyla, the wounds of war would never really heal, and memories of her past would always linger like shadows in the
corners of her mind. But in the middle of the darkness, she took comfort in knowing that she was not alone-that she was part
of a worldwide tapestry made up of the threads of innumerable stories of survival and redemption.
So, as Leyla gazed out over the horizon of her newfound home, she felt a sense of peace wash over her-a peace born not from
the absence of struggle, but from the knowledge that no matter how far she had traveled, she would always carry the echoes
of her journey, as well as the unwavering strength of her spirit.

Lost and Found
“Is there anyone reading this? Can I really reach you with my words?
Do I make a difference?"

W e all wonder if anyone truly hears us, especially when we're trying to figure out who we are. It's like being lost
in a gigantic maze - snarled in thoughts and feelings about ourselves. We spend ages trying to unravel that
mess and find the real us, the one who can be both gentle and strong.

For me, it took forever to discover the "me" I liked. Talking about myself felt like painting a picture with words and feelings,
hoping it would show who I really was. Fitting in? Forget that! It's all about breaking free from those expectations. So I wrote, I
drew, I sang - anything that would help to express myself.

Exploring myself was like learning from mistakes. My bad moments and weaknesses were like neon signs, pointing towards
being a better me. Along the way, I found out what works and what doesn't work for me. I know my low points, my
weaknesses and I know better than anyone how I work. But here's the tricky part; Life throws curveballs, and sometimes you
just feel beat up.

It felt like giving up, like letting go of a balloon and watching it dri away, I felt like I need someone, who could understand me,
who could guide me and felt what I felt. But when that person was not there, I only had two options, either to give up or fight
through it alone, and I chose to fight. Time and understanding myself better became my new best friends. I remembered why
I started - to be myself, share my ideas, and to help others see and feel that things can be different. Because it is possible, as
long as you are willing to look at yourself with all pure and genuine intentions and to express this.

And guess what? I grew. Not physically, but soul-wise. That inner confusion became a purpose - something to make a
difference, even if just a bit. It's not the big stuff that matters, but the little things that spread out. One conversation, one
shared moment - that's what changes things.

Let's be honest, I'm still figuring things out. I'm not perfect, and I'll mess up again and again. But that's the beauty of this
journey, we fall, pick ourselves up, and keep searching for the real us. Here's to embracing the messy parts and finding the
courage to keep searching for yourself.

You've got this! And if you're still reading this, high five! Your presence matters. These words connect us, bridging hearts and
minds. As I continue to seek the real me, my hand is reaching out to you. Join me, and let's explore this maze together
because guess what? Our stories can change the world, one word at a time.

EARTH:
A MASTERPIECE IN PERIL
“This article was awarded
the first place at the
Tata Building India School essay
competition 2023-24”

2 0 years later, CO2 levels will have rocketed to the point of no return, less than 70% of the planet will cease to have tree
cover, nearly all of earth's population will face water scarcity and the global temperature will rise past the highest
recorded level in history.
Welcome to the year 2023. Humanity has trudged through the past 2 decades, changing the world around it in a whirlpool of
technology, invention and industrialization. It is now " 20 years later " and the scholars of the human race have yet again lived
up to their impeccable reputation of being astute in their predictions. Indeed, the Earth is suffocating under the weight of our
disregard just as we verily predicted. Each day, billions of cars whizz across roads, the metal seas belching poison into the air,
choking the lungs of our planet. Parched forests across the world swelter and burn, and our tremendous plants dump refuse
into the oceans, the ocean's tears mixing with our own as we witness the devastation we've caused. And yet, our trivial tears are
all we contribute to the chaos unfolding in front of us. It appears that the idea of being human has been glorified beyond
rationale. We see ourselves as the owners, creators and saviours of this planet, going above and beyond to prove so. We sprint
through the most advanced of discoveries, sending men, mammals, and metal into space, carving symbols and erecting flag
poles on the surface of the moon. We dig deep and suck out the water from the planet's bosom, play a relentless child's game of
hide and seek with the ozone, and run daggers through soils as we force rivers to change their god-given routes. We dive to the
deepest bits of the seas, exploring the depth and leaving behind a carnage of metal and oil in our wake. We push, push, and
push till we are certain nature won't give us any more, till we are sure it has nothing le to give. Through warped pathways of
psychology, history and literature, one might try to ascertain the reason behind this wild chase, to understand what
nonsensical prerogative the human race wishes to exercise as it poisons what it was created to love! The only conclusion they
might come to, is that maybe we are so hell-bent on leaving a mark of our existence in this universe, on proving the fact that we
existed, and that too with a purpose, that we're endangering our own survival. I commend the optimist who accepts this
reason behind Man's irresponsibility, but at the end of the day, all it remains is a reason. And a reason is never an excuse. I
implore my impertinence to be excused, but alas! All we do is marvel at the statistics each year, uselessly lamenting at their
increasing gravity with each revised edition. We appear to be rooted to our spots like one is beside an accident site: well aware
of the situation but unmoving. Is that another effort to revel in our existence? An attempt to add the tag of 'destroyers' to
ourselves? Or are we so set in our ways, so addicted to leaving atrocity in our wake merely to settle our whims of comfort? It is
about time we step down from our pedestals of delusion and realise that we aren't creators, owners, destroyers or saviours of
nature. Humans are nature. We are intertwined, and our fate is shared; the annihilation of one means the butchery of the other.
We need to realise that if we continue down this path of destruction, we will be the architects of our own demise. What we must
enact, is the power that we do hold. The power I talk about is a rare gem that surfaces from time to time in history, changing the
course of humanity when it is on the brink of dissolution. This power is man's power to create, destroy what he creates, and
save what he destroys. Today, the cries of the endangered species echo through the forests, a haunting reminder of our
collective failure. The rivers run red with the blood of negligence, the skies weep with toxic rain and the clock ticks. What we
must do is cling to the hands of the clock and attempt to rewind it with the same might that we channelled to wound it. The
Earth's wounds are deep, and only our actions can bring healing. So let us rise to the challenge, let us unite in this effort. Let us
work together, across borders, across political lines, and across generations as we race our last chance at remorse and
repentance. For the Earth is a masterpiece in peril, and we are the ones holding the brush.

The Stripes and Their Vitality to Us
Oh mighty tiger, will we be able to see you again? You are a jungle's greatest wealth.
No idea, what we will attain,
By assassinating and murdering you, The flora of the forests deeply adore,
Who knows? I, for one, have no clue. Your mighty and frightening roar-
Because, it helps keep herbivores at bay,
For hundreds of years, You really make their day,
To the “victory” we have been achieving, “Cheers!” By not letting extra verdure go,
After every cut, slash, stab on your frame Down the herbivores' throat.
What tomfoolery! What a ridiculous game!
Oh you pride of India! The flora helps you in return
Oh you devoid of any phobia! For the favour needs to be repaid, not undone.
Except one, that is, us and our ways, They give you and us fresh air to breathe,

We fools are unaware of your worth, You are a cultural figure for many,
You are the reason we still survive on earth. Dwelling in India; in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and New Delhi.
In your absence,

To dreams, scriptures and poems, you are abundantly present.
You are a jewel to us in several ways,

Instead get up and try. Ishita Prabhakar IX-A

What Memory Lane Looks Like
I took a walk through memory lane last night. giggles and chuckles
Shared between chosen sisters.
I find myself incessantly drifting there,
My footsteps etch themselves into the concrete Walking out of this building
from all my previous strolls through the boulevard of childhood, I feel my heart get heavier
and As if a weight was dropped onto it
13th Avenue, the path to what they call the golden years. The weight of reminiscing about things that have happened in
this place Even some that are yet to happen
Its like a lucid dream,
As I step out onto the pavement
Watching recollections materialize And then fall away,
Disappearing into a million smithereens. I take a moment and stop, for no cars drive by here,
For no buses with school children pass by here,
I walked past polaroid photos and felt warmth rush over me,
For I can freely flip through the pages of this photo album Looking
From the hug of a long-lost friend
through polaroid pictures with a long lost friend The warmth of her hug
I feel a comforting ache in me,
still hangs over me
Walking through the bookstore of my imagination as a kid.
Like a reminder of what could've blossomed had it been right
I wonder when I lost that,
Nostalgia, as I've discovered on my various strolls through memory lane,
I wonder when the need for rational thinking
Is a pain to those who introspect, Those who wonder,
Closed the doors to the palace I had created for myself above the
clouds. Those who are constantly searching for the perfect moment to capture,
And put in a golden frame for the years to come.
I found myself standing in front of the large iron gates Of what
looked like a school, It eats away at their hearts,
And pictured myself standing in front of the same gates Some 11 As they have this ceaseless need to make a moment last.
years back,
I find myself wondering about what it might feel like someday,
The greyish walls of the building looming over me And I
When I reminisce about the present.
remembered wondering if
they were threatening to be a menace to my life More often than not, I find my train of thought heading towards its own
Not just a building, but a place, doom,
Whose walls hold stories within them, For I have come to the realisation That forever is the sweetest con
The walls and pillars that watched kids grow, So make it last while you still can. Maybe someday, you'll look back,
And have something to smile to yourself about,
The walls and pillars that watched friendships bloom, The walls
With that same comforting ache that you felt,
and pillars that watched students come and go, And find their

This place that has become my second home. Akshita Agrawal X-B

Gedicht Oh!

Die Erde wird wärmer, das Eis schmilzt, The earth is getting warmer, the ice is melting,
Die Gletscher schwinden, die Fluten steigen, The glaciers are disappearing, the oods are rising,
Die Wüsten wachsen, die Stürme toben, The deserts grow, the storms rage,
Die Arten sterben, die Menschen leiden. Species are dying, people are suffering.
Wir müssen handeln, bevor es zu spät ist, We must act before it's too late,
Die Natur schützen, die Umwelt bewahren, Protect nature, preserve the environment.
Die Erde retten, die Zukunft sichern, Save the earth, secure the future,
Für uns und für die kommenden Generationen. For us and for future generations.
Jeder kann helfen, jeder kann etwas tun, Everyone can help, everyone can do something,
Energie sparen, Müll vermeiden, Save energy, avoid waste,
Die Natur genießen, die Welt entdecken, Enjoy nature, discover the world,
And thus contribute to saving the earth.

Thema: Warum Deutsch ist gut Topic-Why German is good

Deutsch ist eine schöne Sprache, German is a beautiful language,
Die manchmal schwer zu lernen ist. Which is sometimes difcult to learn.
Aber wenn man es einmal kann, But once you can do it,
Ist es ein wahrer Schatz. It is a true treasure.
Die Worte sind wie Musik, The words are like music,
Die Sätze wie Gedichte. The sentences like poems.
Die Grammatik ist wie ein Puzzle, Grammar is like a puzzle,
Das man Stück für Stück zusammensetzt. That you put together piece by piece.

Deutsch ist eine Sprache der Dichter, German is a language of poets,

Eine Sprache der Denker. A language of thinkers.
It's a language that changed the world,
And which still has so much to offer.
German is a language you can love,
Eine Sprache, die man schätzen kann. A language to appreciate.
It's a language you can understand,
Eine Sprache, die man sprechen kann. A language you can speak.
Deutsch ist eine Sprache, die man genießen kann, German is a language that you can enjoy,
Eine Sprache, die man leben kann. A language you can live.
It's a language you can feel,
Eine Sprache, die man atmen kann. A language you can breathe.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR
GERMAN COURSE
FROM 2nd JUNE -22nd JUNE'2024

M s. Pooja Chadha, teaching German at Apeejay School, Pitampura, was awarded a scholarship of a 3-
week language course (Standard Group Course Adults Intensive) in Dresden, Germany, from June 2nd
to June 22nd, 2024. This opportunity was organized and sponsored by Goethe Institut, Max Mueller
Bhavan, New Delhi, in collaboration with Goethe Institut, Dresden.
The course has significantly enhanced my language proficiency and teaching skills, providing me with invaluable
insights into German culture and society. Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi, consistently strives to
enrich the learning experience for German learners
and educators alike through cultural events,
competitions, youth camps, and innovative teaching
methodologies. This scholarship has enabled me to
grow both professionally and culturally.
Her feedback: During my time in Dresden, I eagerly
explored the city's rich cultural and historical
landmarks: Known as the "Florence on the Elbe,"
Dresden captivated me with its architectural marvels
such as the Dresden Frauenkirche and the majestic
Zwinger Palace, icons of its Baroque heritage. The
tranquil banks of the River Elbe offered picturesque
walks with stunning views of the cityscape and the
renowned Semperoper opera house. Dresden's
vibrant cultural scene, vibrant festivals, concerts, and
bustling street life further enriched my understanding
of German history and culture, creating lasting
memories of exploration and discovery.
Beyond language acquisition, this scholarship
broadened my understanding of diverse traditions and
cultures across Asia and Europe. I am always eager to
seize opportunities for professional development and
stay updated in my field. This course has provided me
an ideal platform for continuous growth and building a
global community of language enthusiasts.
It has truly been an exceptional and enriching learning
journey.
