Workshop 2-Basic Patterns
Workshop 2-Basic Patterns
The symbology of a pattern represents a code applicable to everyone. This allows you to understand and
use them even if they are written in other languages. Likewise, the pattern of a magazine, book or blog must
allow this information to be transferred to anyone else, to proceed to correctly create the model of the
selected garment.
Due to the above and taking into account the research carried out in the immediately previous activity called
Reflect on the importance of conventions in the development of patterns, participate in the forum with
the answer to the following questions:
• Which pattern symbols studied are considered universal and which of them would you use
permanently in the development of your patterns? Justify your answer.
Which pattern symbols studied are considered universal and which of them
would you use permanently in the development of your patterns? Justify your
answer. R/= 1 line of your waist 2 Darts 3 the opening of the zipper 4 Buttons

patterns have symbols that allow us to know what actions to take and the
exact point in which to take them, they also tell us if the piece is from the
front or the back. What(s) are the benefits of using symbols in pattern
making? R/= are done in order not to oversaturate the surface of the pattern
with excess text. Excess text can also imply problems transmitting
information.

In my case I would use the above and additionally perforation, since garments
nowadays are very popular with pockets.

The symbols that are considered universal are clamps, cutting, folding,
perforation, zipper, and in terms of creating patterns it would be necessary to
know and use them all, since due to the pattern we are going to use we can use
some of them. 2. The benefit is based on the fact that with the use of symbols the
space to be used is reduced so that any operation to be performed is less
cumbersome. Furthermore, since they are universal symbols, it would be possible
to understand them regardless of the language spoken.
Cutting, clamping, folding, zipper and perforation. They are important because it
is a universal language that allows you to be agile and for other people to
understand more easily without having to use conventional writing.
Then, carefully read your classmates' posts and respectfully comment on any that catch your attention,
arguing why you agree or disagree with their contributions. In this way, a dynamic of collaborative
construction of highly valuable knowledge will be generated.

FRONT SKIRT BACK SKIRT
To draw basic patterns, it is necessary to apply techniques and develop skills, recognizing that the care in its
preparation and exact application of measurements depends on whether the garment fits perfectly to the
person for whom it is being designed.
GFPI-F-135 V01
Once you have studied the steps in the construction of the patterns and carried out the interactive activity,
you must make a pattern of a Blouse in any of the sizes of the models in activity 1.
Subsequently, you must take a photograph as requested and record it in the Photographic Record box
below:
