A. Preliminary Activities
1. Opening Prayer
2. Checking of the Attendance/Checking of haircut and ID’s
3. Remind the students about the classroom rules
B. Good Day, Class! Before we proceed into our next topic let’s take a review.
What are the topics that we have discussed last quarter?
A. Elicit The teacher will present a labelled picture of the human digestive
system. From the given list of functions posted on the board, the
student will be asked to choose one organ and describe it’s
functions using the concept strips.
B. Engage
(Contextualization and Now let us have an activity, I am going to divide you into two groups
Localization, Inquiry -
Based)
Mechanics:
This game is by group
You have 3 minutes to arrange the random letters to form a word
You have a chance to steal
The teacher will let the students answer by the group of a set of jumbled letters
that called fix me, and will arrange it to form a word/s.
IV. PROCEDURE
(The teacher will explain the digestive system, explain the process of ingestion,
describe the process of mechanical and chemical digestion, and cite the
importance of mechanical and chemical digestion. And ask some questions).
Digestive System- is a network of organs that help you digest and absorb
nutrition from your food.
Process of Ingestion
Ingestion is the process of taking in food through the mouth. In
vertebrates, the teeth, saliva, and tongue play important roles in
mastication (preparing the food into bolus).
Mechanical Digestion
The large pieces of food that are ingested have to be broken into smaller
molecules that can be acted, which begins in the mouth with chewing or
mastication and continues with churning and mixing actions in the
stomach.
Chemical Digestion
Uses certain enzymes to break down nutrients, such as carbohydrates,
proteins, and fats, into smaller molecules. This occurs to a person can
absorb these molecules into the bloodstream. The process occurs in the
mouth, stomach, and small intestine.
E. Elaborate

Choices:
Liver
Stomach
Mouth
Large intestine
Esophagus
Pancreas
Gallbladder
Small intestine
Breaks down the foods we eat into their most basic forms, such as fatty acids
F. Valuing
which make up fats, glucose sugars, or amino acids which make up protein.
Water, vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, and carbs are examples of nutrients.
G. Application Nutrients from food and liquids are broken down and absorbed by your digestive
system for use in vital processes like cell growth, repair, and energy production.
H. Evaluation Direction: Write the word TRUE if the statement is correct, and write FALSE is the
statement is incorrect.
__________1. Digestive system is a network of organs that help you digest and
absorb nutrition from your food.
__________2. The process of taking in food through the mouth is called digestive
system.
__________3. Mechanical digestion is the large pieces of food that are ingested
have to be broken into smaller particles that can be acted.
__________4. Occurs to a person can absorb these molecules into the
bloodstream called chemical digestion.
__________5. Mechanical digestion and chemical digestion are the same.
Since we already done in our discussion I have some questions again to all of you
Again, What is digestive system?
Is digestive system is important? Why or Why Not?
I. Extend
