Personal Profile
I am a final year student of the Bachelor of Science in Education (Design Graphics and Construction)
in Atlantic Technological University, (ATU) Galway. Throughout college, I have gained excellent
skills in lesson planning, critical reflections, CAD, design, and classroom management. I also have
completed four blocks of school placement teaching both junior and senior cycle students, which has
development my skills in innovation, creativity, communication, organisation, and virtual learning
environments. I also have work experience in hospitality sectors which have developed my customer
service skills, communication skills, time management and working under pressure. As a newly
qualified teacher I aim to be involved in extra curricular activities and school community projects.
Seeking opportunities as a qualified post-primary teacher to teach Constructions Studies to senior
cycle standard.

Projects
Dissertation: ‘THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SELECTED TEACHING STRATEGIES FOR
STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA IN THE CLASSROOM’. The aim of my dissertation is identifying
dyslexia and different methods of assisting dyslexic students in the classroom.

Micro-teaching: The aim of this project was to create a lesson plan in a group, for a Junior Cycle class
for all technology. We prepared slides identifying learning objectives as well as including learning
activities to reinforce the learning.
