Ontario.

Northern. Ontario is an area richly endowed with metallic mineral resources. It is one
of the most important mineral resource regions in Canada if not in the world. One only
needs to look at the volume of mineral production to support this view. The region
produces nearly half of the world s nickel and a substantial portion of the nation s gold,
silver, copper, zinc, uranium, cobalt and platinum metals. For a hundred years the federal
and Provincial governments have mismanaged these non renewable mineral resources

The question is why is that the case? A good study should be able to give us some
answers. Why don t we have a strong secondary manufacturing sector in Northern Ontario
? Where do we start? A good start would be to do a study and inventory of all our
natural advantages like our land, stone, sand and gravel, water, energy like natural gas,
electrical power supply available. Natural resources be they renewable and none
renewable. Starting with our primary industries like metal ore mining and smelters
production, nickel copper lead zinc gold silver cobalt and the platinum group metals.
How much is shipped to Canadian smelters and how much is shipped to foreign
smelters? How much of the smelter production is processed to finish end produces in
Canada? The general idea is to build secondary manufacturing industries on the
production of our primary industries. Hydroelectric power potential in Manitoba,

Alcohol And The Central Nervous System
Alcohol, like many other drugs, is dose dependent, readily absorbed, and widely
distributed. As a result, alcohol affects many organ systems of the body, including the
central nervous system (CNS). Alcohol is easily absorbed, is soluble across all biological
membranes, and does not bind to any plasma proteins. There is no place in our bodies
where alcoholcannot reach. Alcohol absorption occurs between 80 90 minutes, and is
affected by whether or not someone has eaten, as this will affect the speed at which the
alcohol enters the blood stream. Alcohol is metabolized similarly to food. Approximately
85% of ingested alcohol is metabolized by the liver, 5 10% is metabolized in the stomach,
and approximately 5% is excreted, unchanged, through sweat and the lungs. Men
metabolize alcohol faster than women. This is due to the fact that women have 50% less
enzymes in the stomach that metabolize alcohol than men, and the fact that women have
more body fat than men. The blood supply to fat is much less than that found in muscles.
Therefore, alcohol does not get metabolized as quickly in individuals with a higher fat
content. When alcohol is metabolized, acetaldehyde, a poisonous byproduct, is formed.
Alcohol dehydrogenasebreaks down alcohol into acetaldehyde. Acetaldehyde
dehydrogenase further breaks down the poisonous acetaldehyde into acetic acid. Some
ethnicities, such as some Asian groups, have less active acetaldehyde dehydrogenase

Claude Debussy Claude Debussy also known as Achille Claude Debussy has been one
of the most influential composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
Debussy was born into a middle class family being the son of a shopkeeper and a
seamstress and the oldest of his five siblings. Debussy began his career at the Paris
Conservatory at the very young age of 11. During his studies, he met the wealthy
Nadezhda von Meck, a patroness of Tchaikovsky, who employed him to be the music
teacher to her son Nikolai von Meck. Through this Nadezhda von Meck exposed the
growing Debussy to the works of Russian composers, such as Borodin and
Mussorgsky, who continue to be significant influences on his compositions. In 1884,
when Debussy was 22 years old, he entered his cantata L Enfant prodigy also known as
The Prodigal Child in the Prix de Rome, a worldwide competition for composers.
Debussy took home the top prize, which allowed him to study for up to three years in
the Italian capital studying at the Villa Medici. Unfortunately, he returned to Paris
after only two years. While he was in Rome, he studied the music of German composer
Richard Wagner. Wagner s influence on Debussy was profound and lasting, but despite
this, Debussy shied away from the ostentation of Wagner s opera in his works. In 1892
at the age mid age of 30, Debussy began to compose for operas with the start of Pelléas
et Mélisande, a play written by Met Erik Satie, a pianist from Montmartre, which

Internal Conflict In Sonny s Blues
Sonny s Blues

In James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues it is only when a brother loses his child that he
realizes how easy it can be to lose his brother. The narrator s little brother, Sonny, was
left in his charge when their parents passed away. He neglects Sonny and leaves him to
work through hard decisions on his own which leads to Sonny being picked up by the
police for using and selling drugs. When the narrator s daughter, Grace, passes he sees
how suffering can affect people and reaches out to Sonny, who is fighting to make his
way in the world through music. Baldwin shows us that you don t have to see eye to eye
on everything to accept that person. The narrator doesn t agree with his brother s use of
drugs and the comfort he finds in music. When the news of his Sonny s arrest arrives he
brushes it aside, not seeing a need to reach out to his brother. I couldn t find any room
for it anywhere inside me. He resents his brother because he believes Sonny is
intentionally suffering. When he reaching out to Sonny he sees that music is helping him
and the narrator begins to accept his different path. Filling the air with the immense
suggestion that Sonny speak for himself. He doesn t try to persuade him to follow a path
that guarantees success but embraces his way of overcoming his suffering. The narrator s
internal conflict displays that is having a hard time reaching out and accepting Sonny
because of the decisions he made. In the beginning of the story,
