REVIEW PROCESS

PREFERRED CONDITIONS OF MANUSCRIPTS

The INTERNATIONAL REVIEW OF APPLIED SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING strives to publish high quality papers.
To ensure this goal, we apply some basic quality and relevance criteria when reviewing a manuscript, in particular
every submission undergoes iThenticate plagiarism and self-plagiarism check (including original, revised as well
as accepted versions of the MS). The similarity index may not be higher than 13% (excluding references). Not
fulfilling these requirements may lead to desk rejection of a submitted manuscript.

REVIEW OF THE MANUSCRIPTS

Each paper will be read by at least two unbiased peer reviewers, chosen avoiding any conflict of interest.
INTERNATIONAL REVIEW OF APPLIED SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING applies a single-blind review process, in
which the reviewers’ identities are hidden to the authors while the reviewers are aware of the authors’ identity.
Authors are welcome to suggest at most three potential reviewers when submitting their manuscripts. They
cannot be employed in the same country as any of the authors. Suggested reviewers may not be in any way
affiliated with the author or the work. Authors should provide academic email addresses of the proposed
reviewers. The editor may not use author’s suggestion, but it may facilitate the review process. Excluding
reviewers is not possible.
Unpublished results are treated strictly confidentially.

AUTHOR CHARGES

In accordance with the agreement between the Electronic Information Service National Programme (EISZ) and
Akadémiai Kiadó, papers with a corresponding author affiliated to a member institution subscribing to the journal
package of Akadémiai Kiadó, will be published without an author fee.
International Review
of Applied Sciences and Engineering
Instructions for Authors

In principle, the Authors of manuscripts submitted after Feb 1, 2020 and not covered by the agreement between
EISZ and Akadémiai Kiadó are requested to pay the Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the publishing costs
of the paper. However, in practice, there are a number of funded waivers, courtesy of the University of Debrecen.
If the corresponding author is not affiliated with an EISZ member institution, and in the unlikely event that funded
waivers have run out, the APC is 1100 EUR (including VAT). Akadémiai Kiadó offers a 50% discount for Editorial
Board members, and institutions in middle-income countries, whereas low-income economy institutions would
be granted a 100% discount. Discounts may not be combined.
Authors without a waiver will be requested – after acceptance of their paper in INTERNATIONAL REVIEW OF
APPLIED SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING – to enter our online payment platform (https://apc.akademiai.hu),
where after registration they can upload the license agreement and settle the fee by bank transfer or with a
credit card. Manuscripts with outstanding payment will not be processed until the balance is cleared.
Please note that there is no peer review charge, the only applicable fee might be the article processing charge.
For more information on Akadémiai Kiadó’s Open Access policy visit our website.
