A B O U T MUN
"Model UN trains today's students to tomorrow's leaders.
Students who do model UN would one day change the world"

MUN stands for Model United Nations, also known as Model

UN , is an educational simulation and academic competition in
which students learn about diplomacy, international relations,
and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches research,
public speaking, debating, writing skills, critical thinking,
teamwork, and leadership abilities. It is an extracurricular
activity; some schools also offer Model UN as a class.
Participants in Model UN conferences, referred to as delegates,
are placed in committees and assigned countries, or occasionally
other organizations or political figures representing members of
that body. They are presented with their assignments in advance,
along with a topic or topics that their committee will discuss.
Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate
positions that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in
the committee, staying true to the actual position of the person
they represent. At the end of a conference, the best performing
delegates in each committee and delegation are sometimes
recognized with awards.
Debating and deliberating on international issues by giving
speeches to the committee and writing resolutions concerning a
given agenda requires the employment of an array of
communication and critical thinking skills to represent their
country's policies. Many conferences run additional crisis
simulations where hypothetical real-world issues are created to
adjudge the delegate's spontaneity, diplomacy, and flexibility
while under stress.
A B O U T AUMPMUN
AUMP Model United Nations came into working back in 2018 to
bring the MUN culture to Gwalior. Being one of the very first
institution in Gwalior to conduct a MUN conference, the
responsibility was huge. However, the exponential growth of our
society has proved that we fared well. Six years ago, Amity Law
School inaugurated this ambition of bringing future diplomats
and debaters to a common platform that unleashes their hidden
potential. In 2019, we organized one of the largest MUN
conferences in terms of delegate participation. Even the past
couple of years of the pandemic didn't hold us back, and we
concluded magnificent online conferences in light of keeping alive
the art of articulating and expressing one's intellect.
We're working with the same motive to achieve this feat again this
year; only the target is bigger. Until the fourth edition, AUMP
MUN has served over 2000 delegates with 50+ international
delegates from 10+ countries, 700+ institutions from 20+ states,
and 40+ cities with unforgettable experiences.
And in 2023, we are back with the 6th edition. This offline
conference ensures a platform for interacting with different
people, providing an opportunity to revel in a concentration of
diversity and culture amidst the heating debate. Participating in
Amity hosted event has always been profitable due to the
availability of a platform for showcasing what’s within. The
participation count is expected to rise like never before this year
due to the success of its past events. Participating in this event
would provide the participants with greater exposure and help
them develop their skills different fields. We would also provide
exciting cash prizes to the winners and certificates to all the
participants.

agenda

Augmentation on Terrorism and Violent

Extremism in the current times.

Through the threat or use of violence, terrorists

attempt to intimidate or coerce governments or
populations. This could lead to hostage taking,
severe harm, or even death. In order to prohibit
similar crimes from happening in the future,
terrorist networks' funding, mobility, and
activities must be stopped. Terrorism victims
must also have access to a successful remedy and
compensation. Terrorism and extremism victims
can be a vital part of creating societies that are
stronger and more resilient.

Deliberation on the formation of Legislation

on same sex marriage in India.

We are on the edge of a technological revolution, and when

technology enters the picture, history changes direction. One
such technological area that is turning human society into
one of robots and machines is artificial intelligence (AI).
Machine learning, natural language processing, big data
analytics, algorithms, and many other concepts are all part
of AI. As decision-making bias is a hallmark of human
intelligence, artificial intelligence (AI) products that use
human-created intelligence also exhibit this trait. These
prejudice and bias phenomena, rooted in a cluster of
technologies and embedded in social systems, pose a threat to
all human rights. In fact, by enabling discrimination, AI
adversely undermines the human rights of weak people and
groups, bringing in a new era of technological dictatorship.

Women's Right to Expression: Special Emphasis

on Hijab Controversy in Ixndia and Iran.

Hijab controversy: Muslim women are battling

for control of their bodies in Iran and India.
Protests against the mandatory women's attire
in Iran are still going on. Indians are really
excited about the protests, especially Hindutva
sympathisers. They feel that this development
supports their stance that Muslim women
should not cover their faces with the hijab in
public settings and that enforcing this rule will
shield Indians from seeing this outfit, which
they allege is anti-woman and archaic.

agenda

Deliberation on Extra-Judicial Killings and

Disappearances Hampering the Right to Life and Liberty.

No other human right can be respected if the right to life

is not. This most fundamental right is violated by
extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary killings, which are
the premeditated death of people outside of any legal
framework.
Unbiased human rights professional Special Rapporteur
on Extrajudicial, Summary, or Arbitrary Executions is
chosen by the UN Human Rights Council. Since it was
first constituted in 1982, the Special Rapporteur's
mandate has been repeatedly extended, most recently in
June 2017 (HRC resolution 44/05). Whether a State has
ratified the pertinent international Conventions is
irrelevant to the Special Rapporteur's mission, which
applies to all nations.

agenda

Rumination on the formation of Legislation

on same sex marriage in India.

Even though the majority of marriage laws

utilise terminology that is gender-neutral,
marriage is a prevalent cultural bond that
is only known as male-female. Despite the
fact that homosexual weddings have only
recently become widely accepted, culture is
gradually more indulgent,
Opening the floor for more solutions.

AUMPMUN 6.0
agenda

Introducing transparency in the Supreme

Court's Collegium to appoint Judges.

What is a Collegium System?

It is the system of appointment and transfer of
judges that has evolved through judgments of
the Supreme Court (SC), and not by an Act of
Parliament or by a provision of the
Constitution.

The collegium method leaves a lot of room for

discussion and differing viewpoints because it
does not stipulate any particular standards for
screening CJI candidates as well as transparency
issues.

Journalism embodies one of the biggest platforms

of voice and debate in democracy. This
committee stands out from the rest in the way
that delegates do not represent the interests of
any country or designated portfolio as such. It is
the duty of International Press to be unbiased,
present the proceedings of each conference
simulations and most importantly bring the
truth in front of everyone.
