Completing the sentences using suitable clauses/phrases

Students are asked to complete ten sentences using suitable clauses / phrases. Never are they
allowed to use a single word to complete the sentence. Sometimes, a single word will seem
enough to complete the meaning. Still, students will have to use more than one word. For this
topic, students must have clear concepts about phrases/ clauses. Sometimes, incomplete
proverbs are given to complete. In this case, there is no alternative to committing proverbs to
memory.
Actually, phrase is a group of words functioning as a single part of speech while clause is part
of a sentence or sometimes sentence itself. Sometimes verb can function as clause.
Note: Whatever the definition of phrase or clause, students must use at least two words to
complete the sentence.

Complete the sentences using suitable clauses/phrases.
