ANSWERS

1. I chose to apply for this company because of the way you utilize a known resource, which is
the Pili nut, and doing something very innovative with it. Processing the pulp part, which
many would discard, and turning it to essential oils and other beneficial product is very
novel idea and I want to be part of the growth of this new industry.
2. The Pili plant is native to Bicol region and I want to support local industry like Pili
processing because that would mean supporting local jobs and promoting our local
product. I want to utilize my experience working as quality control to assure that the
products created by the industry have the utmost quality and ensure customer satisfaction
and improved profits.
3. If chosen to be a member of this team, I will focus on quality above all and ensure that the
production, processes, procedures and standards in the company always meet the highest
standards and produce the ideal product. I will utilize my knowledge as quality control to
ensure that the products are tested and ensured to meet ideal parameters and properties.
4. If chosen as one of the employees of your company, I want to be compensated based on
my contribution to the improvement company. I want the compensation based on the
nature and amount of work that I do proportional to how hard or difficult it is given my
ability. I can help the company by giving suggestions and improvements to the production
process or operation procedures based on my knowledge as an engineer and by engaging
in research and study of the industry.
5. I would motivate employees by first showing them that I am also motivated in my work
and showing them that being motivated improves themselves and their work. I get to know
each employee in the team by understanding their strengths, weaknesses and aspirations.
The employees were motivated when I praise them when they do their work appropriately
despite hardships or irregularities in the production.
6. The work environment I faced most success is when everyone in the team pursue a
common goal and work efficiently towards the success of the company.
7. The e factors that makes teams successful are:
 Good communication with each other by sharing thoughts, opinions and ideas
 Focus on goals and results by agreeing and setting shared team goals
 Everyone contributing their fair share by understanding their responsibilities well
8. I would supervise by showing patience, active listening to them, having positivity,
establishing reliability and performing team building for a common goal.
9. What makes a good superior is their character and integrity. They should be honest,
sincere, consistent and credible in the workplace. They must say what the mean and follow
through with their actions.
10. You are a successful supervisor if you became a better steward and leader of those you
supervise. You should have also made a difference in the lives of their employees and
create a positive, fulfilling work atmosphere.
11. If the priorities changed suddenly, I will also adjust my thinking and frame of mind
accordingly. I will create new ideas and new methods of working that would represent the
new priorities of the project.
12. What I would find difficult in supervising is reduced confidence due to the struggles and
responsibilities of the new role. To deal with this I would take time to regularly boost
confidence by having a positive outlook, acknowledge my fears and try to overcome them,
and increase my belief that I can do my job well.
13. I would handle the situation by first critiquing the behavior of the employee in a non-
personal or emotional way by focusing in the undesirable and unnecessary behaviors. I
would listen to feedback to understand why they behave that way. I would work together
toward a solution, state to them the expectations for change and set the consequences if
the change is not reached.
14. I would define “leadership” as the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to
influence and guide other members of an organization towards a common goal.
15. The 3 important things I learned are:
 Being decisive on your decisions by thinking quickly, weighing the options and then
making the call.
 Being inspirational to motivate and encourage people with hope and positivity
 Being authentic by being who you really are and not an someone you are not
