14 - Astronomy and Astrology AOD Soluton

This document discusses an astronomy lab assignment where students are asked to: 1) Use a planetarium software to view the actual positions of planets at their birth date and time and record them. 2) Generate their natal birth chart using an astrology website and compare the astronomical and astrological planet positions. 3) Note whether the planets were "up" at their birth based on the astronomical and astrological charts and explain any discrepancies between the two sets of positions.

COMMENTS
Do the astronomical and astrological positions agree? If not, why not?

No, they don’t agree. The astrological positions don’t take the precession of the
equinoxes into account.
