CURRENT NAVIGATION DATABASE
 ALL REQUIRED TO START RNP DEPARTURE PROCEDURE.
 SINGLE FAILURE OF THE ITEMS, BEFORE AND AFTER DEPARTURE, SHOULD CAUSE THE CREW
TO CONSIDER ANOTHER TYPE OF APPROACH.
DEPARTURE PREPARATIONS, PF
• Brief departure procedure including speed and altitude restrictions, engine failure, and UNABLE
REQD NAV PERF-RNP procedures.
• Map: TERR display on; CDU: TAKEOFF REF page

DEPARTURE PREPARATIONS, PM
 Departure procedure – from navigation database, no modifications
 RNP PROGRESS Page – set/verify RNP
 NAV OPTIONS page – VOR UPDATE – OFF; DME UPDATE – OFF; LOC UPDATE OFF
 Verify FMC LEGS page as briefed - no lateral modifications
 Map: TERR or WX radar display on; CDU: LEGS
page Note:
At least one pilot should have the map display in the 5 or 10 NM range
OTHER PRE-DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS
 No UNABLE NAV PERF-RNP, VERIFY POS, FMC DISAGREE messages
 Departure RNP equal to or greater than - 0.10 (A/P or F/D with NPS)
 Current local altimeter setting obtained (remote altimeter settings not allowed)
 Reported airport temperature within published limits; wind within limits (if applicable)
DEPARTURE PROCEDURES
 Use LNAV (arm) and VNAV (arm)

Note: For Departures with an RNP of 1.0 or greater

 All of above with the following exceptions:
- 1 FMCs, 1 CDUs
- 1 GPS Receivers (MMRs)
- EGPWS may be inoperative
UNABLE REQD NAV PERF-RNP DURING DEPARTURE
 Inform ATC or select an alternate procedure

FOR RUNWAY WITH ENGINE OUT SID (OE SID)

Engine failure prior to branch point: EXEC EO SID MOD

CURRENT NAVIGATION DATABASE
• ALL REQUIRED TO START RNP –AR / APCH PROCEDURE.
• SINGLE FAILURE OF THE ITEMS, AFTER START OF PROCEDURE, SHOULD CAUSE THE CREW TO
CONSIDER A GO-AROUND/MISSED APPROACH IF THAT IS THE SAFEST COURSE OF ACTION.
APPROACH PREPARATIONS, PF
 Brief approach procedure including speed and altitude restrictions, missed approach, engine failure, and
UNABLE REQD NAV PERF-RNP procedures.
 Map: TERR display on: LEGS page
APPROACH PREPARATIONS, PM
 Approach procedure – from navigation database, no modifications after IAF
 RNP PROGRESS Page – set/verify RNP
 NAV OPTIONS page – VOR UPDATE – OFF; DME UPDATE – OFF; LOC UPDATE OFF
 Verify FMC LEGS page as briefed. With no lateral/vertical modifications
 Map: TERR or WX radar display on; CDU: Approach Ref page

Notes:
 For RNP Approached < 0.3 RNP, manually enter RNP value (LEGS page, PROG page 4)
 With NPS, the flight crew may enter 125 feet for vertical RNP; one pilot should have the map display in
the 5 or 10NM range
OTHER PRE-APPROACH REQUIREMENTS
 No UNABLE NAV PERF-RNP, VERIFY POSITION or FMC DISAGREE messages
 Approach RNP equal to or greater than
- 0.10 (A/P or F/D with NPS)
 Current local altimeter setting obtained (remote altimeter settings not allowed)
 Reported airport temperature within published limits; wind within limits (if applicable)
APPROACH PROCEDURES
 Use LNAV and VNAV or LVL CHG for initial descent
 Prior to GP intercept
- MCP altitude – Sel DA(H)
- VNAV – Engage
- Speed intervention – select and set desired speed (as installed)
 Altimeters – cross check (must be within 100feet)
- MCP altitude – set missed approach page

MAXIMUM DEVIATIONS – FAF TO DA(H)

VTK 75 feet, XTK 1x RNP; NPS amber indication.
Monitor NPS or RNP PROGRESS page
UNABLE REQD NAV PERF-RNP DURING APPROACH
 Without suitable visual references, initiate a go-around/missed approach.
 Maintain course, above 400 feet RA – select/verify LNAV
 Clear of speed restrictions climb at flaps up speed to missed approach altitude
