This document provides design calculations for a timber beam with cross section dimensions of 100mm x 100mm and made from timber strength class D60. The calculations check that the beam has sufficient capacity to resist the maximum bending moments, shear forces, axial compression force and stresses based on Eurocode 5 design rules. The results show that the utilisation of the beam is less than 1 for all checks, indicating the design is satisfactory.
