Design Project - Summer 22-23
Design Project - Summer 22-23
Objective:
This Project exercise requires students to design their own project using (Revit 2023) without the
need for manual media/intervention. Thus, creativity is highly sought; the final product should be
highly creative and innovative in terms of form, space.
The aim is to motivate students to start utilizing digital tools early in the design process and not
for design production purposes only; hints; the tools should drive the design idea to be realized in
a highly creative manner.
It is expected that digital tools will enhance students’ creativity and will have a positive impact on
the final product in comparison to the traditional analog method.
Design brief
Using Revit® 2023, your task is to model a villa (2 or 3 storeys) based on the below criteria
and utilizing the below sites:

Sustainability consideration:
Though it is preferable to have natural light throughout the unit, in some cases, it may not be
possible to provide all functions with adequate natural light; thus, artificial lights will be the
solution with false ceiling. You need to add false ceiling and lights in the areas that will have the
interior renders (ex. family living room or a bedroom)
Note: Only the color scheme, room name & area and the legend should be shown on the
presentation plans, other requirements should be done on the original plans (technical)
Furniture:
• Components: From components, furnish all the plans according to space requirements
You can download new furniture from Bimobject.com
Topography:
• Create a Toposurface around your site adding any extra feature required (i.e. trees, site equipment,
seating, swimming pool, etc.)
• Use subregion to create different regions for walkways, parking… etc.
Sections:
• Produce 2 Sections: Longitudinal Section and Cross Section (At least one shows the vertical
circulation) edit the visibility and graphics to show the cut walls with appropriate materials
hatching. (Concrete for floors and concrete CMU for walls)
• Produce 3D section showing the vertical circulation (color consistent style)
Rendering & Walkthrough: Save all rendered shots to the project only.
• Exterior Shots: Set 2 Cameras for exterior shots and render these shots to high quality.
• Interior Shots: Furnish the family living room, add ceiling and lights, and produce 2 renderings:
o Daylight Rendering
o Night Rendering (The lights should be on)
• Walkthrough: Create a walkthrough starting outside the project showing the exterior of the
project and going inside to show different spaces of GF floor then walking out to the swimming
pool and backyard garden.
You can adjust some of the scales above for better fitting according to your design.
And add more sheets if needed.
All requirements in this document are MINIMUM, feel free to add more spaces or components if
applicable or necessary and to increase creativity. Any instructions that are not mentioned above
mean you can do your own if it’s logically correct. (ex. Level heights, Wall thickness etc.)
