Specific objectives: by the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
1. Define the topic
2. Discuss the importance of communicating within the family
3. Express their feelings about the topic
Life skills:communication
Content summary: Communication is the process of imparting or exchanging of
information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium to convey a
message. For effective communication to take place it requires a sender, receiver
and feedback must be given. 
Importance of communication within the family 
Communication within the family is extremely important because it will help
the members to express their needs, wantsand concerns to each other. Open and
honest communication creates an atmosphere that allows family members to
express their differences as well as love and admiration for one another. It is
through communication that family members are able to resolve unavoidable
problems that may arise in the family.
Procedure:
Engaged
Students will be told the topic
Explain
Students will explain what is meant by the topic
Explore
Students will discuss the importance of communicating within the family
Elaborate
Guidance counsellor will facilitate further
discussion on activities that family members engage in
Evaluate: Activity
1. Students are list three activities that they do with their family
2. Write three sentences to explain the importance of one of the activity listed above.

1. Students are to identify two person within the family they feel comfortable talking
with about any problem that might be affecting them.
