Chapter 3 4 Research Guidelines

This document outlines the formatting guidelines for an engineering undergraduate thesis, including requirements for chapter headings, statistical treatments, presentation of results, conclusions, recommendations, bibliography, appendices, and curriculum vitae. Key sections must be presented in a specific order and format, such as chapter titles in bold and centered, subtitles underlined and in title case. Data should be displayed in clearly labeled tables and figures, and discussions should analyze and interpret results with support from related literature. The thesis must conclude with a bibliography in APA style, appendices for additional materials, and a curriculum vitae with the student's educational background and work experience.

be presented first before the discussion. Enclosed tables with
double line on top should be used. Figures must be in
portrait/vertical positions.
7. Graphs should be colored.
8. Discussion should follow the format: presentation of data,
analysis and interpretation then implications. Related literature
and studies may be used to support the findings.

Recommendations which are in title case and underlined.

Summary of Design Results

1. The summary will contain the general findings of the study

enumerated based on the presentation of the statement of the
problem. Averages, total and/or final values shall be presented
in the summary. After each finding, a general implication shall
be provided to give a deeper analysis of the results of the study.
2. The number of summary must be 1:1 ratio to the design results.

Conclusions

1. Conclusions are written in the past tense and shall answer the
degree of attainment of the objectives.
2. Conclusion/s will be drawn from the findings of the study and
