I. TRAINING/ ACTIVITY

A THREE-DAY TRAINING-WORKSHOP ON COMPUTER LITERACY FOCUSED


ON MICROSOFT POWERPOINT, PUBLISHER & VIDEO EDITING

II. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

In this fast developing world, people understand that computers are really important; as now
we are in world within information technology is simply essential. To step into unknown territory,
computer is the key. It is thus undeniable that being computer literate is a must. Otherwise, one
would feel incapacitated.

Computer literacy refers to the ability to use computer programs in an effective manner.
Computer skills have become increasingly important for students as well as in companies which
depend on computerized technology to get work done. Since almost all workplaces use computers,
therefore the need to have computer skills is really in great demand.

As regards to the Innovation Proposal of Tech-Voc Department of Clarencio Calagos


Memorial School of Fisheries, most of the teachers are not familiar with the basic Microsoft
applications like Microsoft Powerpoint, Publisher and Video Editing. With this prevailing situation,
the proponent is motivated to conduct a training- workshop to the teachers for them to learn the
basics of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This is anchored on the mandate of
the DepEd Order No. 78, s. 2010, Guidelines in the Implementation of the DepEd Computerization
Program (DCP), stressing the need to raise the ICT literacy of learners, pupils, students, teachers
and school heads.

III. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM

The planned program is a three-day Computer Literacy Training-Workshop for Tech-Voc


teachers which included relevant topics concerning computer education.

The resource speakers are ICT Teachers and Mrs. Ma. Fe B. Del Rosario. They are
knowledgeable and expert to talk about their respective topics. The facilitators of the program are
the ICT teachers of same school who are in one or another help each other to make the training-
workshop successful and meaningful. The training will also include workshop which will help the
participants to discover and realize the necessity/importance of the suggested topics.

IV. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the three-day training-workshop, the participants are expected to:

1. familiarize the basic concepts of Microsoft Powerpoint, Publisher and Video Editing;
2. use their creativity in designing their own work;
3. make simple and running presentation; and
4. give importance on the use of computers in the 21st Century.

V. EXPECTED DATES OF TRAINING AND VENUE

Date: September – October 2022 (every Friday)

Training Venue: CCMSF TLE Laboratory

VI. STRATEGIES AND SUB-PROJECTS

Strategies
The topics will be delivered using lecture-discussion method aided with power point
presentation. Workshops will be conducted to engage participants in an environment which cater
their skills in using Microsoft Powerpoint, Publisher and video editing.

Sub-projects:
The outputs in this activity will include the work presentations of the Tech-Voc teachers in
using such software.

VII. TARGET PARTICIPANTS

The participants of the training include the Tech-Voc and Filipino teachers of the Clarencio
Calagos Memorial School of Fisheries for the School Year 2022-2023.
