For all knows, Reading is a tool a person gets information from written letters and words. A person can read using sight or touch, such
when a vision –impaired reads Braille method.
At the most basic level reading is the recognition of words from simple recognition of the individual letters and how these letters form a
particular word to what each word means not just on an individual, but as part of a text.
Dagupan Elementary School conducted a , oral reading from Grade 2 to 3 ,storytelling contest from Grade 4 to
6, and Spelling from Grade 1 to Grade 6 last February 12, 2021 at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon through virtual.
The program started by giving introduction about the activity and singing “Dito ay Masaya”. Ma’am Analiza M. Abalos, Grade 5 adviser
presented the participants for each category. The panel of judges agreed that the participants in oral reading will read one book only while
story retelling will read one book only in 20 minutes and retell it in 5 minutes. In spelling contest, we group the Grade 1 to 3 pupils in 3 groups,
while in Grade 4 to 6 is individual. We gave easy (1 point), average (2 points) and difficulty (3 points) words for each.
