Hyperthermia NCP

The patient presented with hyperthermia due to an underlying urinary tract infection. Their temperature was 38.1 degrees Celsius and other vital signs were elevated. To lower the patient's temperature and treat the underlying infection, the nurse provided surface cooling with cool cloths and undressing, administered antibiotics and IV fluids, and kept the patient at bed rest to reduce metabolic demands. Through these interventions, the patient's fever was successfully reduced and no recurrence of fever occurred by the end of the shift.
