Question one:
1. Enumerate the benefits of online courseware and delivery.

1. Able to train an unlimited number of people.

Training one person can just be like training an unlimited amount of people. It is
also reusable as you can offer the unit or course as many times as necessary to as
many people as you want.

2. Accessibility.
Accessibility is one of the specialties of online courses, students can have access to
wide range of learning materials at their own convenience and in an environment
they are comfortable with. Online courseware can have their mobile versions in
form of mobile apps, a quick and effective way of delivering information on the go.

3. Flexible schedule and environment

Availability of online courseware also means that you don’t have to commute to
class, which means less time spent on the bus or road and more study time in a
comfortable environment of your choosing

2. Challenges that face online courseware and delivery.

1. Lack of learning motivation or intention.

Ineffective results for learners who lack learning motivation or intention.it is
initiated not by the instructor but by the learner.

2. Little or no face to face interaction.

Online courses create a monologue and not a real dialogue in the learning
environment. Building relationships between an instructor and a student online is
quite difficult. Its also difficult for the instructor to acquire if the student has
understood through physical expressions.

3. Intense requirement for self discipline.

The problem is the time management and organization skills needed to stay on top
of your work. An appropriate amount of time is needed in order to complete each
task and balance your coursework against other priorities in your life. If you tend to
procrastinate then you might need to strengthen your self discipline.

3.Infrastructure plan that enables facilitation of staff and students to online classes.

Question two:
1. Discuss in detail the factors that have to be considered when selecting a WAN
service.

1. The geographical areas covered by the service provider.

Is the service provider able to cover the various different locations of the
organisation’s branches and also offer remote access.

2. The level of security offered by the service provider.

Can the service provider offer security, data integrity and data privacy along its
network.

3. The type of traffic being supported is it data only, VoIP, video, large files or
streaming files and can the service provider be able to handle it.

4. What quality of service is required.

Does it deal with the importance of a link to a remote site. Is the data being sent
across the link so valuable that delay or loss of data will cost the business money, or
the business itself could not weather a loss or delay?

5. The level of technical support offered by the provider.

In case a problem arises how available or fast is the service provider able to fix it.

2. Discuss the special requirements posed by home networking in order to facilitate

teleworker solutions
1. Home Office Components - The required home office components are a laptop or
desktop computer, broadband access (cable or DSL), and a VPN router or VPN client
software installed on the computer.
2. A wireless access point.
3. 3. Providing support for VoIP and videoconferencing requires upgrades to these
components. Routers need Quality of Service functionality. The network needs to
provide better service to a selected network traffic as required by voice and video
applications.
3. A reliable security that ensures data privacy by use of a VPN. A VPN is a private
data network that uses the public telecommunication infrastructure. VPN security
maintains privacy using a tunneling protocol and security procedures.

4. Components required in making the intranet a success.

1. Firewall
This comes in both the hardware and software and both accomplish the same thing.
Firewall acts like gatekeepers . It monitors all incoming and outgoing data packets
for unauthorized or suspicious requests. It stands between the outside Internet and
the corporate intranet.
2. A Web server is also both in terms of hardware and software. The hardware you
use for an intranet Web server depends on the intranet's size, the content to be
published and the number of people accessing the intranet at any given time. The
server software handles all requests for files hosted on the server, finds the file and
sends it off to the right computer.
3. Networked PC’s
to access the intranet, the computers need to be connected to the organization's
local area network (LAN). These computers also need to have a Web browser
software.
4. Storage Area networks.
Used to improve the independence of storage from the servers.

Question three
How to set up a peer to peer wireless network.
Open the control panel and click on network and sharing centre
click on the Setup a new connection or network link
Setup a wireless ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network option.
If your currently connected to a wireless network it will disconnect, click next
Now you have to give the network a name, choose a security type and give it a
security key. For the security key,The default is WPA2-Personal, which is the
strongest. Click next and then you’ll get a screen showing you that the network has
been setup. Make sure to save the network box.
The laptop being connected to the network they should both be in the same class of
IP, no gateway or DNS is defined. Both the firewall and antivirus should be disabled.

Disadvantages of peer to peer network

As networks grow larger peer to peer relationships become increasingly difficult to
coordinate. They do not scale well since their efficiency decreases rapidly as the
numbers of computer on the network increases. Since individual users control
access to the resources on their computers security may be difficult to maintain.
