Impromptu Speech Rubric

The rubric evaluates impromptu speeches on four criteria: content, organization and structure, use of language, and delivery. For each criterion, it provides descriptors to assess performance from levels 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. A speech that scores in the 7-8 level would demonstrate insightful content supported by evidence, clear organization, effective language use showing mastery of grammar, and confident delivery with strong eye contact. Scoring lower would mean less insight, support, clarity, language mastery or delivery skills. The rubric allows for an in-depth evaluation of an impromptu speech across multiple essential components.
